Faith Spoken Word

I was asked to write and perform this spoken word for a group of high schoolers at Willow Creek Community Church. This piece is personal and tells my own story within it. I want to thank everyone that has helped grow my faith journey. I also want to give a huge thank you to Matt Warren for filming and editing this video and making this piece come to life! Enjoy!

So.. commit to the God who tells us how to beat slaves, how women are to obey men, and that being gay is an abomination? That the only way to appease himself was to sacrifice his son by crucifixation instead of just forgiving people, and there's a place for all the naysayers to be in eternal torture? You could use faith to justify any unfalsifiable claim (Allah, Shiva, Jesus, Santa, Zeus, Great Spirit, etc.) If it makes you feel inspired, ok but isn't that all it does?
