Elevator stops VERY hard TWICE going down, then re-levels when doors open!

- Filmed on November 28, 2018: This elevator is some sort of a joke! When it comes to a stop going down, the car itself suddenly levels super fast, then it stops SO hard! When the elevator doors open (seen in video), it re-levels upward. This elevator has been doing that almost half of last semester as they just got it fixed months ago after being broken down for almost the whole entire year. There was also times that this elevator actually did the same thing oppositely going up (stops hard twice, then re-levels downward when doors open). As scary as it felt during this video that you saw, still gives it a good, thrilling amusement park ride at the same time. :D Installed in 2009.

It just needs some adjustment. It can happen with any hydro....
Yeah, the valves are what’s needed to be adjusted.
@@JimLiElevators I still wonder why TK uses the same old-school two speed valve body. Schindler has used a microprocessor controlled proportional valve since, oh, 2000 or so, and it works a lot better
I love that motor at least.
I had a Schindler 330A do that to me once, as the elevator reached 1, it stopped pretty hard and shook the elevator a little bit and releveled as the doors were opening. Spooked me at first.
The re-leveling with the door open can happen with any hydraulic elevator. They are very soft and tend to get a bit lower when the weight increases, ie. when the elevator takes passengers.
Yes. It happens often with the elevators in my building
But nobody got on or off.
The down transition and the down stop need to be adjusted. Simple to do if you know how the hydraulic adjustment valves work on the pump
Hey, coincidence, I filmed an Aurora the same day you did!
It lived a HARD life EH? 😁😁
Probably the limit switches need adjustments
I have been on a Thyssenkrupp like this. At the hotel Vermont. I think there might be something wrong with the pump...
It’s not the pump, it’s the valve.
something needs some adjustment on that during the next maintenance visit from an engineer
What a hard stop, I subbed on you channel, Greetings Robert from the netherlands.
It did the same to one of the Elevators at one of the Smart Park Garages that did the same thing but it’s does the same thing on the first floor!! Fortunately, the Elevators are getting ripped out soon and the New ones are under construction and they’ll be Schindler 5500’s!! 😁😁 They’re definitely gonna run sooo much better than the Generic Hydros
It's almost as if it safety breaks itself. :)
I can handle re-leveling but the uneven leveling is a
no-go for me and I would have been scared.
I rode an elevator at a parking garage, and it stopped hard on me. It was a Schindler 300A elevator.
3 story ThyssenKrupp Aurora Hydro with problems(too many!)
Is crazy but i love hydro
I had the same problem but back in my old apartment
I thought TK discontinued the Aurora fixtures back in 2006 according to what I've read on the Internet
Maybe..I don’t know. I think Aurora has been around up until between 2007 to 2008 I think.
Similar to the Saint Arnold Brewery that I filmed at.
This elevator needs help!.......... elevator, DRINK MEDICINE LOL
Hey Jimlielevators I rode a Schindler elevator at a dicks sporting Goods in Illinois and it always relevels when it come down from two to one as the door is opening
I think it does that when you enter or exit the elevator, so I think it’s normal. However, when the doors open without you stepping in or out, and the elevator car real levels, then that is a different story I believe.
"relevels"
my apartment elevators that NEVER level correctly at the lobby and don't have any sort of readjustment:
Same yet mine were recently moded
I repaired this elevator with only Flex Tape!
Maintained by Filechia Elevator 😂😂
Ok that is an elevator that even I wouldn’t have rode. How were you so brave?
I wasn't too scared after all despite it did startled me...lol.
@@JimLiElevators yeah that one would have started me too but anyways awesome video.
WOAH
The ThyssenKrupp elevator in the building where I lived in France, made in 2003 I think, was sometimes making very scary noises, for a long time I made nightmares about this elevator, where I'd get stuck or worse...
Sometimes I prefered to avoid using it because of the noises it made, fortunately I only lived at the 2nd floor of a building with only 3 floors, so... 🙃
I have had it with this thing. Very poor
Is it low on Oil??
No it’s not the oil, it is the valve that’s poorly adjusted.
@@JimLiElevators Ah, Ok.
Low on oil symptoms would only be visible when going up and usually when the elevator is leveling at the TOP floor that thing would be bouncing like a pinball and when going at the start you might feel a real quick drop and usually you can hear the pump straining while going up.
This elevator doesn’t want to work that day. Therefore, it’s sick XD
Death trap
It’s not necessarily that dangerous.
Yeah, that is not normal at all.
no good
Travel limits are probably set wrong and hits the limit switch
travel limits?
if that’s what it’s called
This elevator is worse then the other Thyssenkrupp but with Mad Atoll.
And you are not scared doing this????
First time it did, but when I filmed this I wasn’t.
That elevator needs some help.
Yep.
whoever put this elevator here FIX THE ELEVATOR
