It could immediately deduce from just being there for a few seconds that the vent lead right into the enclosure. What I believe is that theyve evolved on the same planet and live in the same habitat.
      Think about it. Saltwater crocodiles arent afraid of cane toads despite their lethality. Quokkas, dodos, and other island dwelling species arent afraid of humans. Animals arent afraid of other animals they havent coevolved with.
      Basically the moopsy is a natural predator of and regularly(and naturally) eats swamp gobblers

    • @zcarp8642
      @zcarp8642 Před 5 měsíci +8

      Moopsy probably evolved alongside swamp gobblers.
      Animals are usually scared of animals larger than themselves if predatory. Prey animals are pretty much scared by most anything as its advantageous to run from a perceived but nonexistent threat, rather than not run and then die from a perceived threat.
      If moopsy didnt evolve alongside swamp gobblers, and assuming what the man says is true, and that swamp gobblers arent an inherently timid and cautious species, then the swamp gobblers would just see a moopsy as prey, the same way a cane toad is viewed as prey to a coyote, dingo, saltwater crocodile, etc.
      Its also possible that they never coexisted, but a similar looking species does, that poses a threat against swamp gobblers.
      Sorry for the rant
