Regardless of how dangerous it is, I’d buy a Moopsy plushie.
If a plushie is made i hope that a mouth with sharp teeth would appear when it gets squeezed. It would make a pretty good gag gift.
how they didn't have them for sale at release is beyond me.
I’d make mine a little muzzle. I’m a responsible Moopsy owner.
some fan made a very limited run of them that have a chip that says Moopsy when you hug it!
I’d buy a plushie but Paramount prolly won’t make and sell them, and they will just cancel Lower Decks instead.
Tribbles and Moopsy, two of the most cutest and most dangerous creatures in the Star Trek universe.
I could imagine Badgey, being the Joker/Bill Cipher-esque character he is, deciding to Tuvix some Moopsies and some Tribbles, maybe even Section 31 Attack Tribbles, and it leading to more deaths than the Aledo incident had.
There's speculation that they're native to the same planet! Tribbles have no bones, so the Moopsy leaves them alone, and Tribbles eat the husks that the Moopsy leaves behind
@@davidshi451 then someone get the Klingons on line and restart “The Great Tribble Hunt” or in this case, “The Great Moopsy Hunt”
Maybe the irony is we find out the Moopsy was the predator on the Tribble homeworld.
@redstreak1 Interesting. However, Dr. Phlox from Star Trek Enterprise said that the predators on the Tribbles homeworld are reptilian. When he showed a Tribble to Ensign Hoshi Sato before feeding it to one of his pets. Not sure if this pet was reptilian since it's cage was filled with a lot of grass in it but it ate the Tribble.
I need to see a Founder cuddling a Moopsy like a Bond villain with their fluffy cat (Changlings have no bones, so they'll be fine)
Now there’s a great idea! 👍🏾
Then see the Founder sic the Moopsy on any “Solid” that disappoints it. 😬
Incredibly clever and humorous angle to run a gag in show
I completely missed this detail the first time I watched the episode -- note how quickly the blonde leans against the wall to cover up the now-upside-down panel the humans have been tampering with. Sure, everyone spots it later, but gotta give the people who make the show credit for having that clue there at the start.
I noticed it too after the fact
The writers have been good in a few places throughout the whole show regarding subtle smart foreshadowing that I think really add to rewatch value
Its also worth noting as the crew are entering the station you can see the two humans in the corner of their enclosure tinkering with the panel.
I just noticed the closest swamp gobbler not only backs away from the moopsy when it's near the glass, but it also has its knees shake when the latter enters.
They both are. The one in the back also spotted the Moopsy first.
We need a Moopsy plushy and it to be a Star trek online combat pet. Embrace the cuteness.
Cryptic: Write that down! Write that down!
Merchandising! Where the real money from the movie is made!
@@KlaaismI'm still waiting on my Spaceballs: The Flamethrower.
And it needs to say “Moopsy” when you squeeze it
@@mrgoteeCan they at least try to make The Search For More Money…been waiting like 50 years now guys.
The way Moopsy opens the vent cover is just too darn cute 😮
....."plop! clang!"......
It's also smart. The fact that something so dangerous and cute can problem solve like that makes Moopsy even scarier.
"In case of Moopsie escape, contact Commander Ashley Ketchum or Commander Satoshi Tajiri. They have extensive experience and specialized equipment for capturing cute, yet dangerous creatures."
Other operatives specializing in the handling of Moopsy include Ensign Harmonia and Medical Officer Joy
You win.
"In the rare case of a Moopsy shape-shifting into a humanoid form, capable of Human speech, use of either weapons 'and/or elemental abilities, contact Commander Taichi Yagami, Lieutenant Daisuke Motomiya, Science officer Takato Matsuda, Ensign Takuya Kanbara, & Chief of Security Masaru Daimon. All valued members of the USS Odaiba"
Am I missing something here?

I mean, in the context of the Star Trek universe, it’s pretty much a given. In-universe, we went from blasting ourselves back to the Bronze Age in an atomic holocaust to building starships capable of traveling hundreds of times faster than light in just under a century. Humanity made more of an impact on galactic politics in a few decades than groups like the Vulcans had over literal millennia. Put a human in the right circumstances, they could be a threat on par with groups like the Dominion or the Borg.
A critter that's adorable but also terrifying has been done plenty of times before, but I always get a kick out of seeing it 😊
The Killer Rabbit for sure comes to mind!
So do Pokemon.

Moopsy is one of the greatest things ever.
Where is all the Moopsy merch? Does Paramount hate money?
It's probably too expensive for them
"Look. We knew it would be good, but not THIS good..."
It's been a month. Be patient.
Insert Fry:
"Shut up and take my money"
They're really missing a huge merch opportunity here.
Paramount+ should make this as a plushie!
Paramount has been oddly lackluster in the merchandising. Its like they hate money or something.
Note how the music sounds very similar to jurassic park where ellie is running through the woods to the generator bunker
Also reminded of the Rabbit of Caer-Bannog.
I love the Jurassic Park-esque music after it drinks the swamp gobblers.
Yeah I thought it might axtually be for a second.
"You don't understand! Everything here is incredibly dangerous!"

I love the detail on the panel the girl is hiding there; just shows the attention to detail.
I love the frantic jurrasic park esque brass instrumental that plays as they run away and then the moopsy awkwardly moving into frame 😂
OMG, I just noticed they added bits of squeaking noises when he's wallowing at the end of the clip. Both hysterical and clever.
Moopsy is like the one Pokémon that was rejected by Game freak, because it was too f!@ked up.
Too be fair, a lot of Pokémon have pretty f!@ked up PokéDex entries.
@@summertime6785 oh, does any of the official Pokémon drink bones?! Then, there is no Pokémon quite like the Moopsy.

Worf thinks " A warrior 's pet. ".
Nope. Klingons are among the boniest humanoids in the galaxy. Moopsies would love nothing better than to encounter Klingons. We see warriors, Moopsies see a buffet.
I think you have it backwards.... "A pet's warrior"
@@DLordSadow mmm... Cardassians....
The worst part is that the Moopsy drinking those gobblers bones STILL looks adorable! XD
Since they did a crossover with SNW, that means Lower Decks is officially a canon Star Trek series. This means Moopsy is a valid creature in Star Trek.
LD has always been canon
@@poseurlol Yeah, I'm not too sure about that. I mean, it's canon now. So I suppose it doesn't matter.
@SBaby -- But how does appearing in another show canonize it? Technically, TOS isn't even canon because REAL Star Trek was in 1965 with 'The Cage' before Roddenberry ruined and retconned it all in The Menagerie.
@@OfficialOpinion The Menagerie wasn't a retcon. Jeffrey Hunter was originally going to be the permanent Captain of the Enterprise, but declined to pursue film roles. In order to maintain the canonicity of his character, The Menagerie was done, which explained why he isn't the Captain of the Enterprise anymore, using footage from the pilot to bolster the episode. Far from being a retcon, the episode allowed Roddenberry to maintain continuity. NOT having the two-part episode would have been a retcon.
always has been canon. TV and Movies are all canon, only print is not.

I NEED A MOOPSY PLUSHIE. One that says “MOOPSY” when you squeeze it. NOWWWWWW!
Well, we have here the best and the worst of humanity. The 2 prisoners let Moopsy loose not to free themselves, as they were detained because of an honest mistake, but to take over the Menajerie, not caring who got brutally killed. And we have the best of humanity, Ransom and Mariner, who, despite having their flaws, are ready to give their lives to save their team. Ah, there is enseign Gary ,who is terrified and neutral, doesn't help, but doesn't hurt anything either. Just like in real life, we are the best AND the worst species on Earth...
Gary gets a pass, this is his first mission
And then there's Moopsy.
@@PNSee1994 Moopsy is an animal that doesn't know any better and operates only on instinct. You can't be upset of its actions.
@@CS-bu7loI am not sure about that. Did you see how it opened the service conduit to the gobblers' cage?
@@RandyMcDonald80 Yes, you are right, Moopsy is intelligent ! However, I don't think it does things out of spite or material interest, its only interest is food... and maybe a mate, if it reproduces sexually.

Moopsy: (helpfully demonstrates)

Oh wow... Shakar, when his eyes opened.
How can something so cute be so deadly? 😂😂😂😂
It is part of its perfectly evolved survival strategy. By appearing cute it lures in its prey 😈
Makes sense! 😮💨
Moopsy
My boyfriend has Pavlov'ed me with this creature. He's the biter in the relationship, and whenever he says "Moopsy", I freak out XD
It's always the cute small ones that surprise you... or make you run away, or drink your bones...
I hate to say it, but the way the Moopsy eats those Swamp Gooblers reminds me of how the alien eats the rat in the movie "Life".
Also, the way it walks around, and how it opened the vent was really cute!
The animators were told to make it look like "a kid going to town on a Capri Sun".
@@bluezaku78 Hearing that makes it seem less brutal now! XD

Or now for Christmas

You gotta love a universe that has reptilian species that are like the Alien xenomorphs (Gorn), a cuddly virus (Tribbles), and this cute Metroid.
The fact that it has Kyubey's face should have been the audience's first clue...
I'm surprised it took this long for people to start realizing this.

There’s no punchline here; it was just a bloodbath. 🙃
Just remember in the Star Trek universe if its cuddly and cute it's probably the most deadliest creature on the planet
Every time I see this, I find myself wanting to see the Moopsy go up against a Xenomorph. I think the Moopsy stands a chance!
Fun fact: The Moopsy is voiced by the kid of one of the people working on the show.
Interesting fact! 🤓
Where's my Moopsy plushie!
Apparently Mike McMahan told the animators to "make it look like a kid going to town on a Capri Sun"
I think "Moopsy" might be its word for food.
Moopsy is such a great species 😂. It Gives me final fantasy creature vibes.
The realization everything in that place is extremely dangerous makes the reason those humans are there extremely funny
Regarding that the swamp gobblers went immediately into immidation mode while cowering fear was the perfect touch.
If it's Cute, It's Dangerous.
Hopefully moopsy returns!
Moopsy. It looks like a Digimon, but talks like a Pokemon.

MOOPSY TUTORIAL
Go to your local fabrics store, then pick up the following:
White minky fabric
Pink minky fabric
Stuffing
All purpose white thread
For the eyes, you'll need to choose between embroidery or doll/button eyes you can sew in
Some black embroidery floss for the mouth
If you want to get really fancy, you can also pick up an invisible white zipper, to be installed in the mouth. The seam might still end up being a bit obvious, but you'll be able to show off your moopsy's teeth
The moopsy's body shape is pretty simple, basically just a squishy lump, so making the pattern for it should be pretty easy. Pay special attention to the cute lil frill on the side of it's face, you'll want to make that individually and sew it on. The same thing goes for the feet, where you can also take the time to stitch out each individual toe/toe bean for extra detail.
You can fill the feet/frill with beads/beans instead of stuffing to give them some extra floppiness.
Also you should probably learn how to sew, that would help a lot.
