Imagine if the police told someone to stop beating their spouse and children and the abuser responded, "Fine, I'll phase it out in the next 5 years." Would anyone consider this acceptable?

because unfortunately it's more acceptable than those that say they'll double down on it. So you give people a chance to get it right and if they don't succeed - you can go after them then - it is a commitment that they at least are trying to stick to. I mean think about this - wouldn't you want the police going after someone who says they'll perpetually do this all forever or someone who says they'll stop in 5 years if they were trying? I think you get who I'd choose - the foreverer. While it would be great to go after everyone - truth is - we just don't have that kind of capability at the moment - so we have to pick and choose until better comes along. Hey if you don't like what the police are doing - then you fight the 5 yearser - I mean the police are just here for us, but it's on us in the end. Complaining about the lack of police force isn't going to cut it for getting the job done. I doubt you want a police state as much as the next person - so I think you know what the better option is now - because if you complain about the police, who wouldn't have choice words over a complaining youtube comment? Time to get going.
I completely agree. Unfortunately most of the population doesn’t equate those two things though.

On Mic the Vegan, he discussed the latest carnivore propaganda about how veganism "has died," where they cite one restaurant in Los Angeles going omnivore from just vegan. Mic (really Mike) cites Google Search statistics to show that "vegan restaurant" is still being searched for at an increasing rate.

The wool industry is misery. I lived by a sheep farm in Scotland in the middle of nowhere on what you’d think was a lovely place for sheep to be. Every day there were sheep trying to eat on their elbows because of foot disease. Every week we saw dead sheep in the fields. Then I started to see them on every walk near sheep. Last week we had a picnic and saw a sheep on the hillside and as we got closer realised she was dead. Then we saw her moving and I knew instantly what it was. A tiny lamb laying next to the mother’s back, pushing her, walking round to the front to try suckle as flies buzzed out of her empty eye sockets.
Omg, horrendous 😢 Sadly these things will always happen as long as animals are being used as commodities, no matter how “humane” any part of the process is purported to be. People really have no idea about the wool industry, as IMO it’s one of the easiest industries to humane-wash (similar to dairy).

Animal transports are a problem here in Romania too. A lot of sheep are shipped to facilities far away because there are not enough slaughterhouses in Romania that process the halal way, however illogical that sounds.
There are several NGOs trying to change this like Humane Society International Europe and FreeTheAnimal.

2:15 I heard brexit was vegan motivated, because they are freed up to focus on veganism and not cater to the eu's meat demands. Good for them. Honestly I talk to lots of brexiters and helped fund and if not just helped out during the brexit transition with their vegan initiatives. They need more help - much more help. Since veganism was borne out of WWII - it seems like WWII still goes on in the UK's mind - being under occupation of the EU, so it seems like tehy just want to fully break free and be completely unoccupied and doing it all on their own. They're commercializing their victory gardens and I'm really proud of that.
@TotallyForkable Would you consider doing a video on fur in the art industry? It hasn’t really been covered but there are so many paintbrushes still pushed all over CZcams that use kolinsky sable from trapped and caged animals. People express outrage about fur coats don’t seem to grasp that paintbrushes are also fur. There are a few amazing recent additions to the synthetic brush marker: winsor and newtons professional synthetic sable which holds water and does soft washes like a dream and Princeton Aqua elite which has a fine point and also holds lots of water (animal hairs have little nicks on them that hold lots of water and new synthetic fibres mimic this).

0:35 they probably filed for bankruptcy because I didn't invest in their stock - due to not being fully vegan. Wonder if the shorts got to them like they did beyond meat. I only invested in vegan stocks - so I told everyone to invest in beyond meat, not tattooed chef and maple leaf farms (with lightlife). So they all did and that's why beyond meat went to be a top ipo and is still around and tattooed chef isn't. All those people who invested in it were like 'I like it, it's going towards veganism'. Ha - I sure told them! They didn't listen, but they sure are listening now. Where are they now? Well at least it seems like they're rebranding towards being more vegan - because I avoided their products, them being a not fully vegan company at all. I can't even tell what their full offerings are - them not having a website, but at least I did buy their spanish rice the other day - it was nice and filling.
I'm not averse to them going into bankruptcy just like all the other non-vegan brands. Look - if they don't want to be bankrupt financially, then don't be morally bankrupt. Until they go fully plant based, they can be as bankrupt as possible to make way for fully vegan brands. That's all there is to it - they're supposed to be bankrupt - don't we get that already? Makes the really vegan companies shine. That's what I thought we all want around here. I'm going to keep bankrupting those non-vegan companies through funding the vegan ones and telling others to do the same. Sorry if it makes the non-vegan companies weep over not being able to financially exploit animals for monetary gain. I don't tell them what to do, but show it and hope they take the cue.

This was an animal welfare vid not a Vegan News one, even the rainge of products at the beginning you said were not all Vegan, so we shouldn’t be advertising them. We should be supporting Ethical Vegan businesses, and some good Vegan news would be some stats on the growth of Veganism is various parts of the world etc. Or some good news on Vegan sanctuaries and the Vegan Land Movement (VLM) etc!. ✊🏽🌎🌻

It is good news related to veganism, she does make it abundantly clear that many of these cases are imperfect or insufficient. But we shouldn't ignore relevant stories just because they are not explicitly "vegan", it's all relevant
@@lucysky384 There is often a distinction made in vegan communities between animal welfare and animal rights. Welfare often means simply making conditions "more humane" for animals without fundamentally altering the system of exploitation (eg, "humanely slaughtered").
Veganism is declining globally, vegan restaurants are shutting down quicker than ever, and meat sales are rising. The future is meat. Veganism will always be a tiny cult and the future is Animal Welfare with better quality meat. This vid is good news for meat eaters.
@@GarudaLegends I mean meat sales have been declining pretty consistently in Europe, a trend that is expected to continue. Not aware of any evidence, at all, of vegan restaurants shutting down. I am aware of a recent tiktok trend talking about it though, one guess for where you get your info, lol. Try actual research and facts. That's what we grown-ups use to determine what is true about the world.
Also, your username makes reference to Garuda, a figure from Hinduism. Hinduism has for thousands of years expounded on the evils of killing animals. Kind of ironic. What's even more ironic is that you eat factory-farmed meat, and then talk about "welfare". Do better with your life than to murder helpless animals and antagonize the sane people who don't approve of that.
