- For a long time, we’ve been dreaming about visiting one of the world-famous spots you can only reach on a liveaboard 🛳. This year in February, we finally fulfilled this dream and headed out with Nautilus Liveaboards to go diving in Socorro - one of THE most famous destinations on Earth.

It’s early February in the wild blue waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Here, roughly 500 kilometers off the Mexican coast, the Revillagigedo Islands rise steeply out of the sea. It’s hard to imagine, that this place provides a safe haven for spectacular creatures.
While diving you may encounter playful dolphins, giant oceanic manta rays gliding through the water and perfectly adapted predators on their patrol. Under the watch of the rough vulcanoe,
that once created this natural treasure.
This is one of the most iconic dive destinations on this planet. The Revillagigedo islands
are part of the largest fully protected marine reserves in North America, world-famous
for the great concentration of pelagics.
With a wingspan of up to 7 meters these are the largest rays in the world. As smart and curious animals, Giant Pacific Manta Rays are known to approach and interact with divers.
These islands provide a protected refuge for seven species of sharks: white tip sharks, silvertip sharks, blacktip sharks, silky sharks, hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks and tiger sharks.

The density of marine life in Socorro is really crazy - especially the amount of different sharks. And we've never seen a (natural) bait ball before (05:39). So many sharks 😊💙!
How unknown is the sea , so much vastly unexplored with so much beauty and much mysteries - the school of dolphins must be quite the treat guys
Nick and Helmi Omg, you’re absolutely right! We’ve never seen that many dolphins around - couldn’t even show it on the video. We only showed the close ones, but they were literally everywhere, several hundreds as far as we could see!

so far my favorit spot is either (Ras um sid) or (Jackson reef) both in the red Sea
we had a close encounter with a giant manta ray at Ras um sid recently, so amazing ❤

the red sea is amazing diving for the price, especially when you travel from Europa.
its a short flight, its cheap, the weather is allways great.
but for us, its diving and diving only.
