Thx for the video. Looking forward to more about this Adam!
That's a smart pricing model.... Thinking about it myself
A lot of people think that the Visor is vaporware, so I think this pricing model should also reduce some of the financial risk of buying into it. Still, we know that things get delayed and expectations go unmet so I’d say the safe thing to do is to wait for it to ship and see reviews from actual customers.
I looked at the visor thing and it says the 2.5k per eye one is 60 bucks but rn its on sale for $21
Their virtualdesktop app seems to have dropped support for other VR headsets like the HTC XR Elite. They only focus on Apple's headset and their own now. Not sure how they will handle support going forward. Seems like a mixed bag.
They still support the Quest line, but it isn’t surprising that they are dropping some of the other lesser used headset platforms. Eventually it becomes unprofitable to support platforms that have a very small number of users. And, with the platforms capabilities diverging, it has to be getting harder for them to maintain each app.
Im confused with the pricing model, is there a pay once to get all features or do you have to have a subscription to unlock it all?
My understanding is that the features (other than access the pro tier of Immersed) are all there with the pay once model. The subscription just gives you some extras like a warranty, upgrade plan, and comes with immersed pro.
I love immersed pro, but that’s sort of a throw-in for the plan since you are upgraded to pro automatically when you use the app a few days per week anyway.
You have to pay the subscription to even own a pair now, they meshed the hardware and subscription costs into one and their is no option to buy only the hardware, so the MRSP is actually $1000+
@@MaxfoshowNot doubting you but yesterday when I looked it still was showing option to buy separate with no subscription
I also remember one of the post has mentioned that they don’t seem like a company that’s easy or wants you to be able to get in touch with them.
Which is a little bit concerning, especially since the email they provide , was not immediately available had to search for it
And then the email doesn’t work
They are actually quite responsive on their Discord server (immersed.com/community). I haven't emailed directly about Visor related things, but both email and discord support have been fantastic with them when I've had to questions or issues with my Immersed account.
I suspect they focus all their attention on Discord since it's so active, and drop the ball in other areas.
Just get the 12month subscription. It come out to 1100 or 1200 with taxes. If you buy it outright you have to pay like 1150 outright. Its basically the same thing. You can just think of the 12 month membership as a 60 dollar note and your 400 bucks was a down-payment. It has benefits to have the membership anyway. Once your 12 month term is up. The headset unlocks, and it's yours to do as you please.
I’ve definitely liked your videos, but I just subscribed and I hope when it comes out that you do a review on this again
I'm going to buy the headset outright at full price because I don't want to pay a monthly fee.
I’m in the same boat. I do hope they have a visor+ option that’s a lower price for those of us who pay upfront but want the extra benefits.
They do. It's the Founder's Edition for $1,250. But I'm not sure if it will be around forever. The prices for $400 and $600 are upfront prices but with a monthly fee to pay off the rest. You'd end up paying more that way.@@adamlowexr
same@@adamlowexr I dont want to pay per month.. upfront better .
@@adrenalinejunkie3828Exactly. I'm not sure why they are disincentivizing us from purchasing the device outright. Some of us need to make larger one-time capital purchases rather than spreading out the costs over time.
I think that’s a great idea personally. I wouldn’t mind paying the full price but then give me a little discount if I decided I want to add on services.
Bottom line making the same amount of money and even more upfront .
But to thank us for our loyalty
I think I would even pay $100 more but I want priority shipping . Maybe even 200 but send it to me tomorrow
Is the founders edition worth it for the lifetime immersed pro subscription?
Not really. You get immersed pro for free if you use it 3x per week, or you can pay $5/ month. The main advantage of founders is getting it 6 months earlier than the general release.
Is there any difference in specs . Something about special fittings or appearance . I think this is perfect for a first timer who needs for work and can wait for apple to reduce weight or the QUEST 5 . Faster to startup - Unless this is all hype I can’t think of why I don’t want this.
I definitely was thinking, apple Vision Pro, until I saw all the crease marks . I love Apple and probably will buy more stock but feel like I should hold off on vision pro. I mean if some hardcore gamers who are used to heavy have found AVP uncomfortable - it might:would be a very expensive dust collector
@@Frisson391 I wouldn't consider this an Apple Vision competitor, despite some of their marketing trying to compare the two. Visor is really designed to be a Monitor Replacement device. I own an AVP and can't imagine trying to work in more than 10-15 hours per week. I'm really hoping that Visor is able to deliver on their promises.
@@adamlowexrThanks Mate! Truly appreciate your insights. I’ve been dreaming about this kind of technology for over 30 years.. didn’t even realize how close it is. But the Comfort has to be there. I do have to admit, I’m so tempted to order the founders. But when I tried to email them with their official email when I tried to send I was notified it’s not a valid email even before I tried to hit the send button
My primary goal is solely for work. Being able to have high-quality lecture being watched on one screen, but also if it involves metabolic pathways and different enzymes, being able to quickly glance at the pathway and steps involved
As you’re also listening to all the other facts related to it, should make your mind more like an absorbent sponge.
But it looks like even watching a movie could be fantastic, but it’s hard to tell if these are only mock up of the appearance .
I'm not sure whether they are mockups or real, but I suspect they are mockups. It sounds like they are close to finalizing the hardware though, so hopefully we'll start to see some go out to reviewers in the next 2-3 months.
Interesting! Can i connect this to my smartphone ?
Good question. I don’t have my hands on one yet so I can’t say for sure. From what I’ve read, though, it doesn’t sound like it. Maybe they’ll surprise me!
@@adamlowexr thanks for your response! I wrote to the visor support and they told me I can use itcwith the help of some app that I need to install ok my smartphone
Thanks @@adamlowexr I wrote to their support and they responded saying I can use it with smartphone with the help of some visor app!
Sweet! Thanks for following up!
$400 only with monthly contract... other way 1K. Will see when its available for mass...
But it IS great news ! And just in time
I agree. It’s especially good news considering that the Vision Pro doesn’t make for a great Remote Desktop device. At least not at the moment. (I have one and this was one of my main use cases for it)
Hello does it affect your eyes after some hours passes
That’s a great question. Mine hasn’t shipped yet so I don’t have any first hand experience with it. I think review units are supposed to go out to influencers in q2, so it’ll be interesting to see what they say.
I’m fairly used to wearing HMDs though, so I doubt I’ll have much trouble unless it’s very uncomfortable or the displays are garbage.
@@adamlowexr okay please post a video after you have tried it out because my computer I am using now is affecting my eyes really bad and I take all of the precautions my eyes are weak to screens. I need a new product
Does it fit someone that's wearing spectacle? Wearinh Visor over our spectacle, two frames with be very heavy unless it allows user to adjust the magnification power for each eye power so that we can remove our spectacle
I doubt it will fit over glasses. They mentioned being able to get lens inserts though, like you can with other headsets. That’s probably what I’ll do since I can’t see myself wearing contact lenses every time I’d want to use this.
Can we talk about the models that are being sold on TikTok for 35 dollars?
I have no idea what you are talking about, but anything going for $35 is likely a toy or a scam.
$555 canadian, but worth it. I pre-ordered mine.
Sweet! I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it. I wanted the AVP to be a “monitor replacement” but even if/when Immersed’s app is released I don’t think it’ll be nearly as usable since it so uncomfortable to wear. Fingers crossed that the Visor lives up to at least some of the hype.
Seems too good to be true.
Ikr this seems like a pre-order, never see it ship, company goes “bankrupt”, bye bye money moment..
It does feel that way. There are two things that give me hope though. First, it’s an established and reputable company on the software side. Second, Intel’s CEO discussed it and I think showed a prototype on stage.
A lot of things were under wraps because of Qualcomm’s embargo, I think. They really need to get prototypes in people’s hands though, because everything so far just sounds too good to be true.
Just letting you know please do not fall for the trick. You will be spending the normal price of the headset plus that $400 so if you want the cheaper option pay full price for the entire visor.
I wouldn’t call it a trick, at least no more of a trick than any other financing or hardware payment plan. It’s more expensive than paying outright, but for that you get to essentially finance the cost over time, you get an extended warranty, and you get some sort of trade I program. I have no idea if it’s worth the extra cost, but they don’t seem to be trying to hide anything.
It depends what you mean. The glasses are $400 with a 2-year monthly subscription of $39.99 per month. You can also pay the total cost of the glasses for 1,050.00, that's ok, I will pass. These glasses are very expensive for what they are. This will be great for someone with limited space and a laptop. If you have the space and already have a PC with multiple monitors, it is NOT worth it.
@@joer8386you can lay in bed and watch TV. Come on. How cool is that?
@@dethtour I would rather watch sagging (@) (@) on top of me than pay over $1,000 for glasses that's only purpose is to act as a monitor. Now, if the price was around $300, then I would throw the sagging (@) (@) off the bed. Until then, I will keep on milking.
@joer8386 it all depends on your use case. For digital nomads or people who travel for work often but still want/need the extra screen real estate this could be a game changer. For most of us, though, it doesn’t add a whole lot.
OK y did I just buy one for 35$
Yeah sure. $400 upfront, then another $800 in installments. No thank you.
There is still the option to pay it all upfront. We do the same thing with our expensive mobile phones when we spread the payments over the term of a contract, so I applaud them for offering the same type of payment plan here. (FWIW, I paid upfront and probably would still choose that option, personally)
@wexr Thats right. But I think total price is not reasonable and advertised $400 is a bite trick. I got a 1080p 120Hz Xreal Air 2 Pro that in total cost $400 and does the job pretty well.
That’s a different story. Of course, these supposedly have 4k displays and a built in processor, so they are a totally different beast from the Xreal glasses. For media consumption and very light desktop mirroring, I agree that the Xreal work well*. But, the Xreal glasses just aren’t built to be an hours-long monitor replacement.
*I loved the first gen of Xreal glasses, but I was one of the unlucky ones with a face shape that made the Gen2 glasses terribly blurry around the edges.
@@adamlowexrIf they have GPU built in them, they are probably worth the money. But I doubt you can build a highly performing GPU in a glass frame. Power and cooling will become a problem.
Apple relabeled the concept perfectly. Spatial computing. It's the next generation of computing and all markets are now competitive in this space.
This seems like a pre-order, never see it ship, company goes “bankrupt”, bye bye money moment..
I certainly hope that isn’t the case. The company behind it has a good reputation and they are working with good partners. They really need to start getting development or preproduction units in people’s hands, though.
@@adamlowexrGoogle invested billions with magic leap and still it was a vapoware
@squirrel7264 That's a good point. The ML1 did ship though, it was just an epic flop. They refocused on medical, industrial, and enterprise and still seem to be struggling to get the ML2 in the hands of customers. It looks like one of their customers (SentiAR) just got FDA approval a few months ago to use it in the OR though, and the Saudi's keep writing checks to them, so something must be going on. Just nowhere near the consumer space.
Is this standalone or not
Yes, it supposedly runs android but I don’t think they plan to have much of an app ecosystem. It’ll probably be up to the community to build stuff, sort of like with the Xreal glasses.
Can i play on my ps5 with it??
Great question. Lots of us have been asking for display port in, but there is no word if that’s going to happen. They do say that it runs android and people can sideload apps, so I’m betting you’ll be able to do remote play.
It doesn't way and cost one third less, it's two thirds less or one third of the weight and cost. You're welcome - Captain Pedantic.
Haha. I’m just hoping it’s a lot more comfortable on both my face and my wallet.
@@adamlowexr I mean Weigh not Way! Captain pedantic fail 😔
@@mikecrawford9537 I wanted to point out the irony so badly; I just didn't want to be "that guy."
@@adamlowexr I totally would have, no hesitation!

Founders Edition ships 6 months earlier than the normal ones. I feel zero incentive to preorder the normal ones. It would feel like preordering a Cybertruck.
I don't want to shell out an extra $300 to be a beta tester, so I'll wait. A better AR product may come out in the meantime - Samsung has something special brewing.
I agree that it makes sense for most people to wait. This field is moving so fast that you have no idea what’s around the corner or what will turn out to be a waste of time and money.
Think this is legit?
Saw this add for these exact visors for less than 100. Searches to find out more about them and saw your video.
