    Great tip.
    One nitpick, you don't need a value node... just lower value of the black on the ramp to a lower value (more gray). Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

      the math node? Well yeah sure you can control the color gradient in the ramp but it won't show up on the group node that's why you need sometimes numeric fields for easer control from outside once you group them.

    Hmm, does nothing for me, checking the output of the color ramp, it's just all black. Is there some setting you need to do building the floor with Archipack to ensure this works?

      Switch to render view!
      Nothing special about the floors, you can do any cuts and make a floor following this method.
      It will only show up in render view so material preview might give you black/white look .

      @@architecturetopics I tried it in cycles preview but got the same. I'm wondering if it's a archipack issue as the floor doesn't show unless I uncheck random material. I'm using the latest community edition of archipack with blender 3.6

      Not at all, it has nothing to do with it being archipack floor.
      You can do a simple floor with a plane and some array then apply this method and it will give you the same result shown in the video.

    is it possible to do that with a texture not a color ?

      Sure you can use it with a wood texture maybe and apply this to the color map.

    Thank you very much. This is what I am looking for and I would like to ask you to expand the topic. How did you make these tiles, did you use a floor generator? How to add different textures on the floor, how to do it also with chevrons? Is it possible to change the angle of the short edge of the board on the generator Like in 3d max?

      Glad it helped mate! this was done with Archipack a while ago and will do more on the topic later on.
      We will also share a floor generator in the next video which might help so stay tuned!
