2023 BMW M340i with M Performance Parts - Review

- In this video, we review the 2023 BMW M340i with M Performance Parts. With the facelift introduced a few months ago, BMW brought the 2023 BMW M340i M Performance version closer to the M3 by offering an optional carbon fiber roof.
This 2023 BMW M340i Facelift has it, along with an assortment of M Performance Parts like the 20-inch alloy wheels. Look closer and you’ll notice carbon fiber in many areas, including for the grille’s contour and the front spoiler lip. At the back, the trunk lid spoiler and diffuser are also made from the same lightweight and durable material.
Miscellaneous items include the M Performance body decals and rear window sticker sending out a 1980s vibe. The 2023 M340i wears BMW’s special 50 years of M anniversary emblems and has a blacked-out rear badge with the tri-color M contrasting the Mineral White paint. Rounding off the tweaks on the outside is the red tow strap.
This 2023 BMW M340i also gets a special steering wheel with Alcantara and carbon fiber inserts as well as a red 12 o’clock mark. Even the central armrest has M Performance branding.

I like the facelift. What are the specs on the wheel and tires? 19 or 20” wheels? What is the tire width front and back?
If I recall correctly, these were 20 inch all around.
Not a fan of the programmable buttons being removed from dash. Would they be available on the screen? They are great for programming shortcuts.
I guess you can do shortcuts / tiles, but it's not the same thing
They're ~6 programmable touch buttons that you access by dragging down on the screen like an iPhone, iirc.
Previous gen was already nice but this is even better 😁

@@bmwblog I like the headlights and "controversial" the widescreen. The front bumper and the rear fake diffuser but still looks good.

Apparently you can't in the US. Only thru the dealer. But some countries can order that online.

My dealer (Minnetonka MN USA) didn't say anything about M PERFORMANCE parts when we ordered our 2023 M340i X! Are they available in USA? Can they be ordered later and installed? Where is the catalog?
Which is better? The new adaptive led or laser light?
Haven't tested them back to back. But lasers will always be brighter. The EU version. The US lasers were not as good
I really don't like the rear diffuser area. In-fact it's not really a functional diffuser, just a big block of carbon fibre/gloss black. At least on the prior version the diffuser actually had somewhat functional looking underside slats.
How do we know it's not functional? We would honestly have to ask them if it does anything in terms of aero and downforce, otherwise we wouldn't know
@@bmwblog The rear section is a just a flat black/carbon panel where the rear bumper would usually go. Air doesn't flow to that rear area whilst in motion, only on the underside tray and rear underside quadrant. Hence usually diffusers have slats etc. Just weird they used so much carbon in that rear area, though I suppose there may be minor weight saving benefit.
Where can I add the M performance parts? I don't find it on build my bmw
For some reason BMW doesn't allow you to access all these parts in the US website. Just ask your dealership salesperson to send you the list. In Europe they show the full list of options on the website where you can select yourself, but in the states you have to ask your sales rep what each one costs and have them add the options if you want them. Not sure why that's the case.

Not sure, but if I were to guess, the parts add at least $10K to the overall price. Maybe even more considering the carbon fiber roof

The curved screen is a let down. After seeing vision concept curved looks like a gross stick on device. Bmw should have give with just hud & vertices curved screen for idrive
50 years of M should match exterior color cause it only looks good on white cars
Too many M logs on non-M car... also why did they get rid of the gear nob??
You obviously did not had a chance to know BMW 218 Gran Coupe… a puny 1.5litre 3 cylinder engine with 3 times the M sport logos. At least the M340i has a 6 pot B58 and it deserve the M badge.
@@sparcoraceseat well M is M. M340i is not an M car... I am not in favor of all these M & AMG packages and S line.

Just ordered mine, after owning the pre-LCI G20 330i, I am excited to take delivery of the B58. I hope its a step up from the 4-Cylinder.
