I wonder if he used dry of fresh wood. I tried it, but my hollowed branch did not fit together after a while

Mind listing all the tools used?
Made flute with only a knife yesterday, so it`s possible, but yep, it`s harder to do with less instruments. Dry wood also tends to crack, so it can be a problem with knife, but a string can hold two parts together, and cracks don`t make much of a problem.

I made one this morning, and it works, will post a video of it. I made it out of green willow so it will probably split but cherry wood is next :-)

Amazing work. I have always wondered , how one knows where and in what diameter to put the wholes in an ocarina like this?
There are 2 rules.1 in the middle and lower part of the ocarina. 2 it is necessary to arrange the holes so that they are convenient to close. The diameter of the holes depends on the size of the tree and the thickness of the walls; there are no exact recommendations. The first holes must first be drilled 3mm and then bored to the desired note. 5 and 6 hole is drilled 5mm and then boring to the desired note.

It worked! I now have my first ocarina thanks to your video! It is a bit bigger and with a deep tone (D4). I placed the 6th hole at the top, so it is the same arrangement for the left hand as it would be on a native american flute. Only thing I don't like is that t he ocarina sounds too airy, especially on the higher tones. I used a sound hole that is 11mm x 5mm, if that matters. the frequency of the sound depends on the neatly cut whistle, and on the density of the wood.

Which Oil are u using for finish
DIY AtoZ with the colour and dark stain it leaves on the grain, I’m willing to bet it’s linseed oil, though it is slightly brighter than any linseed I’ve seen as of late. It could also be piss, you never know!

Виталий сделал по видео окарину. Диаметр отверстий подбирал по звуку. Во теперь вопрос где можно посмотреть подробный мастер класс или какую нибудь схему по разбору мелодий. И ещё одно я понял что есле просто дуть в окарину то большого толка не будет нужны так сказать "перкусионные" штуки. Это как в игре на варгане.

Благодарю! это льняное масло, но чаще всего нужно кроме масла покрывать еще либо воском либо лаком. Клей titbond зеленый, американский клей.
А чем внутри смазывали?
Не повредило бы описание: как выбирать дерево, сколько оставлять по толщине стенок, по какому принципу сверлить отверстия, в какой пропорции должна быть "вклейка" (не знаю, как это правильно называется) свистка?

Отлично! Сделал всё по видео - сразу зазвучало!!! Подскажите плиз, пять отверстий настроил а минорной пентатонике... Просверлил шестую дырку звук пропал((( пришлось вклеить заглушку и остпвить 5 отверстий... С чем может быть связано исчезновение звука???
чем больше отверстий, тем больше падает давление внутри камеры и отражение от стенок звуковой волны, в определенный момент падения давления , звуковая волна перестает образовываться и распространяться внутри камеры. На это можно влиять 1.материалом, чем плотнее материал тем лучше он отражает волну ; 2 более точной и концентрированной подачей воздуха на свисток; 3. форма окарины также имеет значение, есть правильные и неправильные пропорции для распространения звука. но об этом ничего не могу сказать, так как не веду статистик .

да, это именно сухая ветка, которая высохла в лесу.

If it is one you built yourself, you have to be very precise about the carving of the "ramp" that leads the air to be split in half (hard to explain) : half a millimeter changes everything. If it is one you bought, maybe it is bad.

A bit of explanation as to what you're doing and why would have been nice. As a note: some of the most un-safe use of edged tools I've seen. "Never cut toward yourself, hand or a finger." What tools were you using? What was that tube of amber-colored liquid stuff and why was it used? We can guess, but without narrative, it's only guessing. I don't wish to be negative, but showing how to do something the right and safe way, as well as details as to what you're doing, is how teaching is done. Otherwise it's just a non-specific video.
