- In this video, I demonstrated the amplitude, frequency and phase measurements capabilities using the Marconi 2305 modulation meter and discussed the relationship between frequency and phase modulation. Check out the teardown of this Marconi 2305: www.kerrywong.com/2019/05/26/t... and my previous video: • Teardown and Repair of...
Hi Kerry. Thanks for the follow up video. Love you kept the upside down power switch. Please keep your videos coming 😊
Hi Mr Wong, I just want to thank you for your videos and the time you spend making them. I have been very interested in modulation techniques and the measurement techniques around them. Your video related viewing phase modulation in the time domain with a simple square wave in a way that helped me visualize the carrier wave in a new way. Thanks for your contribution to education!
You are welcome!
I see a Mr. Wong video. I click like since I know it'll be good and I watch it. I'm a simple man lol
Thank you for an interesting video, happy to see an older piece of gear restored to operation. A calibration video next? Also, an lcd backlight project? You need to put together a GPSDO for your lab. I combined an OXCO, GPS receiver and Arduino Nano with an old video distribution amp (converted to 50 ohms). Very nice accuracy for a hobbyist.
Great video!
I think the power option is not always fitted to the 2305..Bare that in mind when buying. The other point worth noting is they are very sensitive to humidity.
I have the same Marconi on my shelf. It will need a complete overhaul and definitely a lot of new caps. The user and service manuals of this unit are available, I wonder if someone has a list of changes through the different firmware versions? However I would like to see an overhaul and calibration video? As I am not really equipped for doing videos, I just want to ask if I could support you in any way to get such a video done? This unit has some interesting self-calibration options. If interested, just leave me a note.
Hello Mr. Wong,
My name is Vinay, I have the exact same Marconi instruments modulation meter 2305. I need to communicate this instrument via GPIB cable, and I need to setup the GPIB address on the instrument.
So my question to you is, would you be kind enough to tell me how to set-up the GPIB address on this 2305 instrument??
It is kinda urgent so I would kindly request you to please share your knowledge and experience on this topic as soon as possible.
Love from INDIA 🙏
Did your unit have the Distortion option installed ? I always hoped to find that option for my unit to install it.
No, I don't have that option either.
Hi, can you do a video about measuring rf power with this and how to add the offset for power input,, I dond understand manual very well thank you
You can use some Goo Gone to remove the residue of that old sticker on the front of the unit.
It hasn't bothered me... but now that you mentioned I will do that.
great video! thanks. I think your 2305 needs calibration. Mine is more accurate than this.
when you installed new on switch,,why upside down
I didn't pay attention and since the switch is notched I will have to resolder a pair of wires to solve this issue... which I will do the next time I open it up.
@@KerryWongBlog just had to joke with you,,I have a motorola auto tune deviation ,works good for me ,has scope output to see wave
.
Except for the math I don't know what you are talkin about.
