I actually really like the the selective item pickup idea! Any update at all to the inventory would be a very nice QoL change, even if it's just a simple one. Another way to implement it might be a pickup filter? Not anything ultra specific (like the Create mod filters), just a button or something to quickly switch between "Pick up All" and "Only pick up Valuables". Keep up the good work!
Thanks, its what inspired me to make the video was that idea, a better way to cycle through important items like our tools, food and torch's etc is really needed. and a pickup filter like that does sounds a lot simpler to understand then placeholders or such. I feel many people ask for bigger inventory or Bundle's, i think alone it does not address the inventory problem.. but if bundle's could filter items it would be a much needed addition.
Everyone was saying stuff like this when 1.20 was coming out and the reason it wont happen is because the inventory system is completely fine as it is! Instead of wasting their time making a useless update they should work on something actually important like a biome update or even an end update.
