I'm a Spanish native speaker and speak English as well. It's interesting to see how English is very similar to German in some aspects but this is very simiar to say in Spanish "Nos apresuramos" or "yo me concentro mucho". So at least, knowing Spanish helps to understand several aspects of German too.
OMG, I didn´t notice it hahaha Now that I realize it makes total sense. Yeah, like knowing Spanish and English helps you a lot except for the thing that´s been to try to learn how to pronounce the "schwere r" since we don´t have that in our language. Thanks Anja, danke für Ihre Hilfe, you are amazing.

@@jingjiang2016 It depends on the region of Germany. In the south they use the same R as spanish but in the north they use a different R
I was about to comment the same thing. I was surprised to find a lot of similarities between German and Spanish.

2. Ich bewege(ohne "n") mich von der Arbeit nach Hause. Eher sagt man aber: "Ich gehe von der Arbeit nach Hause", egal ob man mit dem Auto oder zu Fuß läuft/fährt.
3. Ich interessiere mich für Videospiele (mit "e" weil du den Plural möchtest, wenn du ein bestimmtes Videospiel meinst dann:) "Ich interessiere mich für das Videospiel."
4. Ich bedanke mich für deine wunderbaren (mit "n", erneut um den Plural zu bilden, denn du sprichst von Video(s!)) Videos.

The "zwar" indicates a following list of some things as part of a conclusion. e.g. "es ist total wichtig sich regelmäßig zu bewegen und zwar für die Gesundheit" in this context u will highlight the "gesundheit" as a important conclusion based of ur statement u made in the beginning. yeah.. all that just because if the "zwar" hahah :D

This has been very helpful, thank you! I found that German and Spanish share similar grammatical rules concerning reflexive verbs, altough, as well as in english, some reflexive verbs in german are not reflexive in spanish and that is yet a little confussing to me.

This helps a lot. I can actually translate "mich" and similar verbs in Croatian (my mother tongue) normally unlike in English so I basically understand how it works. There are some similarities between German and Croatian even though German and English are more similar.
It is amazing! Spanish is my mother language and it helps a lot, all reflexive verbs in the video are also reflexive in Spanish for what I saw. Also, in spanish you have "cambiarse = sich umziehen" but if you just say "cambiar", it means you change of personality

In spanish we have reflective pronouns. “Me” “te” “se” “nos” “os”. They work the same as in german.
For example “Ich konzentriere mich sehr“ = “Yo ME concentro mucho”.
“Er erholt such nach dem unfall”= “Él SE recupera luego del accidente”.
“Wir beeilen uns“= “Nosotros NOS apuramos”.

Thank You very much for this video, Perhaps I had fetched chalk 57 Years ago. Now I wanted to learn English and I heard always about reflexive verbs and did not know what it is. Of course, I write these verbs right in German, without knowing what they are.

I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD IT!!!
Concentrate and some other verbs that are always reflexive in German can sometimes be reflexive in English if you want to emphasize it and the fact that you are making an effort to do it. e.g. "I am doing x so that I can concentrate myself on my studies" so for an english speaker that has also learned spanish ( which is similar to german in this regard) i've always had this idea that the reflexive elemnt of these verbs is like a focussing of the meaning. that's how i kinda hear it in my head but obviously it just is the way it is in a lot of other european langueges.

These reflexive verbs make more sense if you know Spanish, e.g: Ich konzentriere mich sehr = me concentro mucho 😅.
In portuguese, also: Eu me concentro muito.
Wir bewegen uns sehr oft .diese woche sind wir in Japan und nächste sind in den USA .😂😂♥️

It is so interesting being an English native (Ich komme aus Australien 😊) and just learning the grammar aspects of German, how much of English is very similar or English we change something (you make me laugh) in Deutsch (du bringst mich zum Lachen) (you bring me to laugh) legit made that mistake many times in German by saying 'mach' to my Verlobter. Because in English we wouldn't really say that and it just sounds funny. But I have learnt a lot and I am actually enjoying furthering my German language studies to A2. Hope to one day become fluent in the German language. Noch mals vielen Dank! ⭐⭐⭐

Das ist echt super immer wenn ich sowas lese erinnere ich mich an meine Schulzeit, ich war der Junge der immer die selben Hemden angezogen hat aber jeden Morgen geduscht hat. Ein anderer hat sich nicht jeden Morgen geduscht aber immer ein anderes Hemd angezogen. Der dritte hat sich das Hemd geholt von dem der nicht jeden Morgen duscht. Irgendwann hat er Pech gehabt, da hat er halt das alte Hemd von mir erwischt.😅
Question (I may have missed the answer in the vid), is there a way of knowing when a verb has to be reflexive or is it simply memorising them?

Very helpful video! We actually have reflexive verbs in Norwegian too that work much in the same way as they do in German so I could recognize much of the pattern here. It definitely helps me remember these rules better because of this similarity to Norwegian and I think you explained it all very well :)
