Yeah man all over Latin America we call each other negro but not as a slur. My mom has called me negro my whole life but never have I taken it as a disparaging term. We have slurs in Spanish for black people, they exists often followed up by de mierda but negro isn't one of em
I understand it’s different in England but negro means black in Spanish and in the Latin culture it’s used not racially but more to describe characteristics still it’s best if he didn’t say it at all in a foreign land
