The Secret Apartment Beneath Big Ben. On the waterfront of London's Houses of Parliament sits a mysteriously dark section of the building, which isn't lit up at night - but why? Because it's a secret apartment of course!

@@Kuricang31 I know many English people that call Elizabeth Clock Tower, Big Ben.
At least he didn't harp on about it and only mentioned it to let on to people that he knew so that he wouldn't get endless comments correcting him. Of course if most people refer to the whole structure as big ben, then that is what it is regardless of what the "official" version is.

The tower where big ben is called the “Elizabeth tower”
He’s a Londoner he knows, but it’s the name known more. Kinda like correcting a Dutch person on using Netherlands instead of Holland

Well done for saying that the BELL is Big Ben but you do know the tower that Big Ben is in has a name... Elizabeth Clock Tower.
It was just known as 'Clock Tower' untill 2012. It was renamed 'Elizabeth Clock Tower' to mark the Queens Diamond Jubilee.

I've always wondered why this section isn't illuminated! But I still believe they could illuminate it albeit more subtly, maybe a few led lamps next to the windows? It would make the building look much better at night.
