A lady in my Ward was at a grocery store in Salt Lake City. There, in the parking lot was a lone elderly man trying to open the door to his car with the key fob. As she got closer, she could see that it was President Hinkley! He showed his usual uplifting humor, joking how he did not know how to open his car door. She showed him how, and it was a wonderful experience for her, meeting the prophet. It is so interesting that he was out and about by himself! I would have expected that he would have had a body guard with him due to the threats our prophets recieve. I love our prophets, which we have in our day!
It is wonderful to know that God is unchangeable and yet sees the needs of His children in all times. Thanks for sharing that story
President Hinckley was truly the right Prophet for our day and time. His wisdom and experience moved the church forward in the right direction. Wonderful man!

President Hinckley was a wonderful man , he came to visit us Dutch saints in 1996 , he spoke to dutch and belgium saints gathered in the Hague , the spirit was so strong when president Hinckley and his wife Marjorie came in to the conference centre , smiling and waving to us all , I will always rember that and never forget it !!!

I had some missionary friends who lived in Hong Kong as a base for their missionary work in China. Most of this was before I knew them. These are Christian Missionaries who go some place for years and years, possibly even for life. Naturally, they were putting their lives at risk. I wish that I could remember the details, but maybe it's best that I cannot.
They would make missionary trips into China to witness not for a religion, but for the Lord Jesus Christ, preaching the Holy Bible, and the Gospel message. Many times God had to rescue them from the authorities, through various ways, sometimes miraculous.
One of these stories may not seem so miraculous, but it sticks in my head. They were out preaching to a very large group of people, and the government authorities surrounded the area, presumably to beat the living daylights out of them and to never be heard from again. But the people who had been listening to the Word of God knew this.
So they formed a circle around them, but there was no way out. So they prayed to God for a way of escape. Immediately, as if an angel pushed people out of the way, a line formed and they escaped. One thing after another happened that allowed them to go through all the barricades and all the way back to Hong Kong.
Little miracles all the way back. Like, they came upon a man with a non-running jeep and no gas who was willing to take them. Their leader said, "let's all hop in," and the moment they were in he says, "let's believe the Lord will make a way." So they prayed to God through Jesus and the jeep started. I think that he said they went 200 miles (maybe kilometers?) in that jeep with no gas.
Wow. I know the blood of scattered Isreal is in China. The Word of our Savior will reach the honest in heart in all lands. Thanks for that inspirational story and thanks for watching

Brother Merril, I just wanted to share my gratitude to you for your beautiful, humble, sweet spirit. I so look forward to seeing new videos from you, I haven't seen one yet that has not brought large volumes of the Spirit, accompanied by tears flowing down my face and this one is no exception. I love what you are doing here and am truly grateful for you heading the Lord's call to you to serve all of us by sharing your stories, gospel lessons, and all of the stuff you do here. The world needs more people like you, you are truly a light in the darkness. My love goes out to you, may God keep, inspire, protect, and lift you up as you continue His work here on earth. Bro Merrill, thank you so much for sharing these faith promoting stories that each one is accompanied by a confirmation of the Holy Ghost. I have made a point of listening to your videos, because I receive such marvelous inspiration. You have inspired me. To search my past experiences that I should take the time to share with my grandchildren going forward and do it in similar way that you do with humility and pure testimony that can, in turn be witnessed to them by the Holy Spirit. Pres Hinckley sure lived in different times. Wonder how he would feel about these sacred experiences shared amidst mega monetizing going on anything from clearing a blocked nose to fecal impacted bowels -
