I found Wes during my very first adventure mode playthrough so many years ago, but I didn't know what to do with him and left him trapped there. Didn't realize what I missed at the time, and now I can't believe what a chance that was. Still haven't got him unlocked yet. Gotta devote some time to hunting around for him again soon.
Wes can only be unlocked if the 3rd world is anything except "Two Worlds" because that world is like a checkpoint, if the 3rd world isn't "Two Worlds" then you should find the center of the map and there it will be Wes trapped in a box.
While this video nostalgically made me remember my first experience with Don't Starve and getting irritable with Adventure Mode. This video was humorously very painful to watch, but good job with the amount of progress you made, and good luck unlocking Wes.
I have hundreds of hours in dst and went back to dont starve and i literally beat the game in 5.4 hours of total gametime in the singleplayer version. That maxwell challenge feels impossible as a kid but so easy as an adult
You're a lot better player than I am but apparently you don't know this: when the forest is on fire do not run deeper into the forest, run out of it and most importantly, get out of the frame with the fire. The fire will chase you until everything is burned up, but if you get on a screen with no fire it will stop spreading. Do it and wait a minute and the fire will be out.
I believe when I did this run you can refuel miners hats with fireflies- which can save inventory space. I did this with 6 fireflies and a full miners hat.
Too many people are obsessed with Speedrunning dst, just play the game how you want to, I have close to 1500hrs and I’ve never even killed all the bosses. I just play it to have fun

34:56 if you drop Maxwell’s book on the ground you can use it with nightmare fuel +your sanity + an axe, pickaxe, spear, or i think shovel to make shadow puppets that do work/combat for you (the duelists are bad)
When you picked wolfgang. Look at the flowers twigs and grass before and after. They are slightly lower res. Perhaps you didn't notice since you had been awake for 18 hours at that point. I know low res textures is a setting to help low end computers. Maybe you switched it on by mistake?
@@Alias0225 What the heck youre right it does get worst, In the first world where I played wilson the first half of the stream i had turned those textures on but maybe when i made a new world with wolfgang the setting didnt transfer over. I really appreciate you bringing this up, I will make sure to keep and eye on it the next time I play Dont starve thank you so much!
