Thank you guys! Coming over from the UK for two weeks (staying with the mouse). I am a massive Harry Potter and Universal park's fan and wanted to max out all theme parks. I always get the express passes but this time got unlimited express passes for all the fam, for two days, by staying one night at the Hard Rock! I was shocked that it worked out a $500 saving! I work at Universal and I didn’t catch if you mentioned it and I missed it or not, but SOMETIMES one can purchase an “after 400pm express”. If not sold out, it also and and mainly has to do with how late the park will be open if it’s offered or not. If purchased, it’s always going to be similar to the standard express (one time use at each ride/show that takes it) and it will only be for one park, not two. Another tip if one is on the fence about buying it, is to wait until there to buy it to see what the crowds are like for you. However, if it’s a time like a weekend, summer, holiday season etc it’s a given that it will be VERY beneficial…and as they said, the more beneficial means more ppl buy it which means it will be more expensive.
We totally forgot that that was a thing! Honestly we aren’t extremely familiar with it cause it seems like the only way we had heard about it was a comment on our previous express video! Thank you much for the tip and the heads up! Also thank you for being part of what makes the parks so incredible!

Hey Guys, we're coming from the UK in April but staying at Disney. We always find trying to do Universal in 1 day crazy and exhausting so we want to do 2 days this year, I was shocked at the price of the Express passes this time (we were last there in 2018)! So I've now booked us a room for one night and saved an unbelievable $1500!! I don't think we get them until check in on day 1 but Universal Studios is open till 10pm, plus early entry the next morning! Thank you so much.

Thanks! I had no idea buying express pass separately costs that much. We've been to Universal 3 times, we stayed at Portofino everytime so we got unlimited express. That completely ruins how we do theme parks. I don't think we can ever go without it. It allows us to hit the park first thing in the morning and leave by 3 to have a late lunch and then pool or false asleep. However the hotel prices have gone up a ton.
Haha we feel that! You get spoiled with express and not having it feels like a nightmare. The hotel prices have been crazy this year! We’re not too happy about it, either!

It really just depends how long you’re willing to wait in line! Three days is a good amount of time in the parks and September isn’t historically very busy!
Cant decide if you enjoy the parks or the food options more lol. Thanks for all your in depth advice! So we are planning 11 theme park days across disney and Universal. First ever trip to Orlando from Oz (only 32 hours flight!!) To pace ourselves we are thinking of getting to the park for rope drop and doing as much as we can till 12ish, then head back to Cabana bay for a few hours pool rest time and then heading back to park for 5ish until it closes. Does this sound like a good plan? It is in early August so Im presuming it will be nice and warm!

That’s really just a personal choice! January is historically a slower month, but it’s never guaranteed to be like this!

Since the passes could have different prices on certain days, your best bet is to call and see what they can do!

My family and I are planning a trip to Adventure Island in mid June. Looking to also go mid week maybe Wednesday or Thursday. I am trying to decide if the express passes will be needed because waiting in line for a hour or more isn't something I want to have to do
In mid June, there are certainly days even during the week that your popular attractions will be very busy. If you are opposed to waiting an hour, we would look into the express passes for sure!

That ALONE is worth the price of admission! and considering the fact that the premier hotels give out the UNLIMITED express pass?!!! if more than one person is occupying the hotel you almost always save the price of the hotel PER DAY on FREE express pass!

I did some research and ended up booking at Royal Pacific for 1 night and it cost the same as what just ONE DAY of express pass would cost. Highly highly recommend staying at a premier resort.

We will be in Universal for a wedding this thanksgiving week. The wedding is taking place on Sunday, but we will be hitting the parks on Monday and Tuesday and want to purchase express passes but aren't sure if they are worth the price per person, especially if all the rides aren't included. If my parents are staying at one of the premier hotels on Saturday and Sunday night (switching hotels for Monday and Tuesday due to cheaper costs), would they still have access to the unlimited express passes that come with that stay to use the Monday and Tuesday we will be in the parks? Or do the express passes only work for the actual days/nights they stay in the hotel?
It sounds like your parents are checking out on Monday morning. If that's the case, they'll have express on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, but not on Tuesday. You can add up to 4 adults on a standard room, so you could get express for 4 people with that one hotel room!

It’s definitely getting busier at the parks as we lead up to spring break, but if you’re willing to stay from open till close, you probably have a good chance! We hope you have an awesome time at the parks!

It can! It’s just limited to once per ride after 4:00 pm. It also doesn’t work at Volcano Bay as they use the Tapu Tapu system instead of express

Hello! Would you please do a video of Universal's Attractions Assistance Pass (AAP)? I think it would be very helpful to those families who have someone with special needs (like us) who are hesitant to travel and go to theme parks like Universal. I discovered a video about it by accident and I think it's a game changer in encouraging families with special needs in planning their vacations. Thank you for considering it!
We’ve avoided it so far because we don’t have any first hand experience with it! We’ll see if we can do enough research to feel comfortable trying to explain it in a video. We agree this is something that needs to be covered more!

Can you still you use water boat transportation after checking out of the hotel?
Yes you can! You get to keep your hotel key, so on the off chance they asked you can show them that!
Can they scan your pass if its in the clear pouch or do you have to take it out to scan?
They can scan it! It’s why we carry lanyards!
Does everyone who stays at the hotel get a room card (express pass reasons) or are the names linked to the primary card when using hotel card for express pass access? Does it work for HHN too?
Everyone gets their own room key with their name printed on it! And no, it doesn’t work for HHN.
Hey often do express passes sell out? And how far in advance should you buy them
On super busy days like holidays or during spread break, etc. it happens pretty frequently! As soon as you know you’re going, and have decided on express, buy them asap! As more sell, the price goes up accordingly until they sell out.

I’ll be going for 4 days in mid January, should I get fast pass for at least a day or 2? I am just curious about how busy it is during this time and I don’t want to get fast pass and other lines only being like 15-30 minutes. Does mummy being closed affect how busy other rides will be? By the way I’m staying aventura, did the math the package I did was a lot cheaper than staying in the premiere hotels (though I absolutely love them) so just wondering whether or not the fast pass at this time of year is worth the price? Dates I’m there are january 16-20. Is MLK day gonna make things busier?
At this point, we would probably recommend waiting until you get to the parks to see if you want express or not. After that Monday, the parks should be pretty slow. The weekend of MLK day and that Monday are projected to be "moderate" crowds, so things won't be a walk on but it should be manageable. We don't think Mummy being closed will do anything crazy to the wait times, but you never know!

We will be there Jan 12. After doing the research we are planning on waiting to see if will need it. It is supposed to be slow and I hope that is true. We hate waiting in lines but 15-30 mins would be tolerable for us. Since only 2 of us, we are staying at the value resort. Last time we went Veterans Day weekend and it wasn't too bad. We had Express Passes but many rides were walk on like Alien, Simpsons, Hulk.
Has anyone tried to ride every ride in both parks in one day using Express Pass? My family is going later this year and we only have 1 day for both parks and there are about 8 rides we cannot miss and 3 or 4 more that we would like to ride if we have time. Just trying to figure out if this is realistic with the express pass. Thanks in advance!
If you get there early in the morning and you're willing to hustle a little, it really shouldn't be an issue! There's always a chance that a ride is delayed for weather or mechanical issues, but aside from that, you should have time! Wear comfy shoes, it's gonna be a long day! lol
This might be a dumb question, but if we purchased the 2 park unlimited express pass, do we only pay once or per day? And does the unlimited last for one day or the whole time you stay there?
If you purchase express outright it’s on a per-day basis so you’d have to pay that price every day of your trip. There are some multi day tickets that say something along the lines of “2 day park to park ticket with unlimited express” that would include express for both days.
Is it worth to take get express pass on the week after Memorial Day during early September? Is it worth it.
It just depends how long you’re willing to wait in line if they’re worth it to you! Crowds definitely slow down in September!
How do you redeem the express pass? I have the barcode on the Universal App. Do I just bring that to every ride and have them scan it? Lol
Yeah! You will need to have it with you at all times!
If I am staying for only one night in a universal premier hotel, for which day do I get the express passes? For the day I check in or the day I check out? Can I choose? Because ideally, I would like to check in for the night then go to the park the next day (day of check-out). If that is possible, would they store our luggage for us while we are at the park? Sorry I am so confused about how that would work!
You get it for both! One night at a premier hotel gets you TWO days of unlimited express. And yes, you can leave your bags with luggage services in the hotel lobby.

HI Guys :),
I have a small question, I'm visiting the parks this August and I only have 6 rides in my bucket list for each Universal Park in two different days, the rest of the day will be trying snacks and discovering each park. Is it really worth it to buy the express pass?
I would think you’d have plenty of time! It just depends how long you’re willing to wait in line. You would definitely have more time to explore the parks with express, but I don’t think it’s necessary!

Honestly the express pass isn't really worth it if you plan to visit regularly, since they don't help with Velocicoaster and Hagrid, its more of a thing for those that rarely visit to be able to get multiple rides quickly on all the other rides.
How I would use it is to get there an hour early with your hotel key quickly get a ride on Hagrid and velocicoaster (maybe 2 rides on Velocicoaster), then as it gets to 9 start just express passing all the rides until 5pm where you get your final rides on Velocicoaster and Hagrid (if it hasn't been delayed of course). With the express pass between 9-5 you should be able to get at least 2 rides on every attraction with express or 3 to 4 times if there are multiple rides you only wanted to experience once. With the main ride killing time being the Hogwarts Express between parks as even with express it will be a 40 minute wait
It really just depends! If we were locals, we would 100% have the premier annual pass and would take advantage of that after 4 express. That’s a pretty good plan for having express passes, though! It’s funny, we’ve always found that when we try to have a set plan like that it always falls through. Universal definitely needs to do something for the train, though. That line can get crazy and they merge express way too early in King’s Cross!

LOL I feel bad for saying it, but I can't stand waiting in line at theme parks (especially in Florida because its so hot). I always, always budget for express passes. I try to teach my daughter about having patience but I found out that I don't technically have any either in the parks. LOL I just can't wrap my mind around waiting an hour + for a ride that only last a few minutes. That probably sounds terrible but its the whole truth lol. Express = Less Stress!!!!
Haha we're the same! I think once you go to the parks with express it's just a total game changer. Then, on your following trips you're just used to everything being a walk on and can't fathom waiting. We're absolutely the same way, if we don't have express, we really don't ride much in the parks. We've learned, though, it's less the waiting in line and more the standing in a stagnant line that drives us crazy. Rides like velocicoaster aren't as bad because you're constantly moving!

I have a 5 day ticket and I was wondering if I could select the dates of the express pass or if I would have to buy a seperate pass for each day?? It says that they were $119 online but on the date my tickets are the freaking pass is $269!!!!! I definitely can’t dish out that much cash every day 😂
Unfortunately the express passes are on a daily basis and they get more expensive as people purchase them. We’ve heard that they do have a “ticket + express” bundle that can be a lot cheaper, so it might be worth calling Universal to look into that!
Unfortunately the express passes are on a daily basis and they get more expensive as people purchase them. We’ve heard that they do have a “ticket + express” bundle that can be a lot cheaper, so it might be worth calling Universal to look into that!
The issue I hate about express passes is you miss the theme in the lines. Most lines go though the back

How do they know if the persons name is the actual person on the express card? Like I know they scan the express pass but then never check it against my pass or anything. After reading another comment saying they take my picture, I don't remember taking a picture for the pass and when I was looking at the screen when they scan it, I didn't see an image either.
Hey there! So the first time the pass is used they take a picture using one of the cameras that is in the queue that way if the express pass is lost or if someone else tries to use it they can confiscate the pass! It’s not a formal thing where you know they have taken the picture!
I think I understand but, before I booked I wanted to make sure. So when I purchase 4 of the unlimited express passes for my family, that's only for one day correct? So, if I wanted to have the express pass for all 4 of us at both of the parks on different days, you'd have to essentially purchase 8?

The beginning of march will likely be pretty busy, but no, express is never necessary. Also, there are two attractions in islands of adventure that currently don’t offer express (Velocicoaster and Hagrid’s) so I would say it’s probably better for Studios!

I got turned off to Islands of Adventure when their 2 biggest rides isn't included with the express pass. I'm done waiting in lines. Lol
It can be frustrating, but we understand why they do it. Hagrid’s and Velocicoaster are so popular they’d be overrun with people in the express line. People without express wouldn’t have a chance of riding it. They’ll get it eventually, though.
@@ThePughTwo There is no other park that I've been to including Cedar Point, Kings Island, Carowinds, Dollywood, and about 5 Six Flags I've been to that the best coasters wasn't included in the fast pass.

You have to buy a ticket to get into the parks. The express pass does not get you into the parks!

You would! But if you stay at a premier hotel, your stay would come with express for the day you check in and check out!

That’s a great question, and I’m not entirely sure. I would suggest calling Universal and asking them about this directly. I know they have school groups that come all the time, so they probably have a standard protocol for this!

They should be! Late august slows down as kids go back to school, but early august is usually busy!

Staying at a premier resort gives you unlimited express pass but what about park hopping
It does not give you access to the parks in any capacity. Park hopping would have to be something that you have on your tickets!

Hey Zianee! While it’s certainly true that on the busier days there will be more people on the express line, protocols at universal have TMs priorities the express line, especially on extremely busy days! We have never waited more than half the posted wait time using an express pass luckily!
How would they know who's name is who? little kids don't have ID?
Kids don’t have to have an ID, but adults do when picking up tickets. They also take a picture of you when they scan your express so if the person using it changes, they can tell.
