We're off on our first one-way cruise adventure aboard the Carnival Breeze for its repositioning from Galveston, Texas to Port Canaveral, Florida! We sailed from September 16-30, 2018 on a 14-Day Southern Caribbean itinerary with stops in Grand Cayman, Aruba, Curacao, Grenada, Barbados, Dominica, and Sint Maarten. This was a Carnival Journeys cruise, with all sorts of extra throwback fun to be had...

We almost always choose interior. We definitely enjoy having quantity when it comes to cruises, and it’s not like you get treated any differently, ha ha. :D

We had such a great time on the Breeze... I'm thinking it'll end up as our second favorite ship, and very likely could have taken the top spot... but we can't do that to our good ol' Pride, ha ha... :D

How fun! Different looking ship than all the ones we’ve been on. Embarkation day is always a blast, especially when you get on nice and early and go exploring. We got off a ship not even a month ago and cant wait to get on another one. As of now, we have to wait til June for the Legend and Alaska. Might have to do one in between. U guys are an awesome couple and so much fun. My 4 yr old granddaughter insisted I wait to watch this til I picked her up from Pre-K. She just smiles the entire time. This is the only cruise vlog she likes to watch, she loves you guys. We were surprised with a plate of those same cookies on our last day on the Pride. My hubby and I go to most of the trivia and the guy who ran most of them sent us cookies and a note that he enjoyed us and liked how much fun we always have. I did not get to try one once the grandkids came to our room. But I heard they were great.
We were pleasantly surprised by the Breeze. It was the same layout we remembered from the Magic, but decorated more like the newer ships like the Vista. We really enjoyed it! That’s too cute that your granddaughter loves tagging along on our adventures. And those cookies were quite good. That’s too bad you missed them! Awww! Gotta keep those hungry grandkids happy, ha ha... :P
You guys are awesome. I’m finally getting back to cruising solo this time but, hopefully my wife will get the back. Going on the breeze on May 28th

The Breeze is really a nice ship. And holy moly, those southern itineraries are packed full of cool new places to us. We had five new ports this trip!! Super exciting!

We really loved the Breeze... so close in decor to the Vista and the newer ships, but still had the overall feel and familiarity of any other ship we'd been on. Love it!! :D
I was so excited to see a vlog from you guys! We just got off the Pride yesterday. Before we even got back to Hampton Roads, we booked our next one on Sunrise! We may have to try the Breeze at some point...looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip!
Ah, our good ol’ Pride!! Love it, ha ha. We want to try the Sunrise and we’d love to do a Norfolk sailing again, but at this point we’d have to wait until 2020 sometime, hah. Dang!!

The Breeze looks so different compared to its sisters. I will be going on the Breeze next August from Port Canaveral. Great video.

Yes both Magic and Dream have the same layout as the Breeze. The Breeze was the first ever ship with the fancy/ modern decor.

YEA!! I am so glad you are on this cruise.😊 I feel like I have been waiting forever. I really do not mind sleeping in the upper bunk as long as you two behave.😆 ok, tell me, does the repositioning cruise mean you have to fly back home? I have friends in FL who do that on some of the overseas cruises. I will be in touch during your cruise. Hope you do not mind.
We feel like we waited forever too, ha ha. We’re actually back home now and creating the videos from all the footage. But we had quite the adventure and we’re excited to share! Yes, the repositioning is a one-way deal. Both ports were farther than we wanted to drive, so we flew one-way to Texas, than again one-way from Florida.

I would pull that ceiling bunk thing down and use it to store things...so you have more room ..put the life jackets up there and your suitcases..and whatever ..use the space
Alas, they had it locked. That would have been a great idea though! Other than the fact that you're required to have the bed separated into two twins if you have the bunk down as well...

We really enjoyed the Breeze, and even though we had been on the Magic twice before, something about the Breeze felt even more modern and clean-looking. But hey, the Vista has rolled over to Galveston now, so you may have to check that one out, if you haven't already! :D

It’s just me but I would freak out staying in an interior cabin. There’s no window to view the outside world and when the ship is rocking I will most likely go bananas forgetting I was on a ship.
We've done the occasional balcony cabin, but we normally sail interior just so we can cruise more often. I know some folks who can't stand the interiors though, and feel so closed off, so I get that, ha ha... fortunately, we've never minded and we don't really spend that much time in the cabin!! :D
They took the cruising sign away from our door hangy thingy. Just said snoozing. Which costed us a few room cleanings because our steward would only come by when we was n the room. And instead of your head in the spin it was ur finger. Lol.
Ah yep, I discovered that and pointed it out later in the series. Our sign said snoozin’ on both sides and there was no cruisin’ at all. Interesting!!
Hey can you see if you can do a room service for a small bottle of like amaretto or if that's not available and only in 375ml. Thanks so much its be great to know b4 hand if I have to order a big one :-( I dont drink that much
From what I’ve seen, room service doesn’t offer any size bottles of liquor. You can order the larger bottles online prior to your cruise, but that seems to be the only option I’ve seen. Hmm.
I ain't going to lie! I got nervous for a second when you open the cabin door and Dee was sitting there I thought you walked into someone else's room lol

We really enjoyed Deck 1, no issues with noise, no smell issues which can sometimes be a problem. The lobby and dining room are both on Deck 3, so that was an easy hike up the stairs. We loved it!! I wish we had been a little more mid-ship, rather than by the forward elevators, but that's just because we had to go all the way to the back for breakfast or dinner each day, ha ha... I definitely needed those extra steps, so I can't really complain!! :P
HI ParoDeeJay, How long did it take you to go through security from time walking into the terminal until you got onto the ship?
This video is from the "old days" so things may be a bit different now, but we have priority status with Carnival, so it was usually about 30 minutes overall for us personally.

We only used Galveston Express once, but we'd use them again. Maybe they were having an off day, ha ha... but I think it's $30 per person one-way, so the UberLyft math might work out about the same. Hadn't thought to check it!!

We normally do include a caption at the beginning of each video with the date, and the dates are always in the description. There's not room in the video title to add it though, so I usually just stick the year in there when I can, ha ha... :P

Love you guys vids. My boyfriend is 6'7 and he doesn't want to cruise because he thinks the bathroom will be uncomfortable for him. Are there specific rooms to accommodate taller people

Thankee! I've never heard of cabins that are taller... I know someone recommended to me that bigger guys (width-wise, ha ha...) can shower in the spa area if the cabin shower proves awkward, but we cruised with a guy who is 6'8" recently, and he had a ball. He may have to remember to duck through doorways, but if he's like me, that's sort of a built-in habit, hah... :P

We are sailing on the Carnival Breeze out of Port Canaveral for the first time. What is some advice you would give for pre cruise and Embarkation day?
Hmmm... Port Canaveral is usually pretty smooth. We haven't done a ton of exploring around Port Canaveral, other than booking an alligator airboat tour one time, which was fun. We've thought about the space center, but haven't gone for it yet. As for the Breeze itself, I can't think of any real secrets... we like that it doesn't have the "Liquid Lounge" concept like the newer ships where the seating is terrible... it has the older lounges which aren't as strange, ha ha... :P
Is it all inclusive? Food and drinks?
The cruise itself? For the most part, yes. Most all food and non-alcoholic drinks are included, (tea, coffee, lemonade, water) but there are a few upcharge pay restaurants, and things like sodas are extra. But you can have a perfectly awesome cruise with the included food and drink and not have to spend anything more! :D

How much was the shuttle from the airport?
Galveston Express was $15 per person per way, which one-way was all we needed. They did a nice job other than not being able to get us on the shuttle at the time promised, which we also heard from some other folks in the waiting area. I think the special 14-day cruise luggage threw them off because once the van filled with bags, off they’d go even if there was more room for people obviously. But they handled it well!

Not only a low end cruise line but an interior room, blah !
We don't mind interior cabins because it means we get to cruise more often, ha ha... and we don't spend a ton of time in our cabin really. We've got a balcony for Alaska next year, and we've done different cabin types for special occasions. We've enjoyed Carnival so far because we like the lively atmosphere, and we tend to cruise off-season when there isn't an over-abundance of party people. We've sailed Royal once so far, and we've got another booked in the future, so we're definitely looking to branch out as vacation time allows!! :P
I guess you are right. I just don't care for carnival. I only tried them once and no more. We only do RCI. Thing is when you are loyal to one ship the perks are amazing. I get free drink packages and upgrades. There was only time we did not do a balcony room and it was a port hole. I did not mind that but it drove my hubs crazy. He likes to relax on the balcony and take naps. Never did Alaska. We are doing Bahamas again in Jan then in June we are traveling Europe for 2 weeks then jumping on Jewel of the seas out of Rome to Greek Isles for 7 days.
Very nice! Yes, we started with Carnival just because of budget, and we're slated to get into their top tier for loyalty by the end of next year. But we're already starting to branch out more and more. We've been eyeing some Greek Isles or possibly British Isles itineraries via either Royal or Norwegian. They both have some great looking stuff for Europe. Hope you have an awesome time!! :D
A cove balcony room is the same price as an interior.
Oh weird! Usually when I check a cove balcony, they cost almost twice as much as a standard interior. I was just on the Carnival site today peeking at a 14-day Journeys for next year, and the interior was $1,299/pp versus a cove at $2,179/pp. I need to know your secrets if you're getting cove balconies for interior prices, haaah!! :P
