  • More Loud House milking for the surprising lot of you that seem to want it. Nickelodeon made a live-action Loud House movie for Christmas last year and I'm once again late to the party by around 5 months I think. Movie's still garbo so here's why.

    Ok so let me get this straight
    Lincoln in this movie...
    •emotionally manipulated lori into coming home and possibly missing her golf tournament
    •traumatize leni by letting her "friend" be eaten on tv
    •ruined luna's relationship with sam
    •humiliate luan in front of a crowd of people
    •screwed up the family's trip to miami
    •and ruined lily's christmas tree lighting (which as a child would be very important to you)

    The difference between Lincoln and a character like Greg Heffley is that Greg is supposed to be an unlikable asshole (at least in the earlier books), so everything bad that happens to him is deserved. Lincoln doesn't quite have this same build up

    • @icecreamhero2375
      @icecreamhero2375 Před 2 lety +254

      No, it's the opposite. Greg was always a little selfish and egotistical but most of the time he is an unfortunate victim of circumstance. For example one of my favorite gags in Diary of a Wimpy Kid is when Greg is on the Swim team. He thinks that the starter pistol is a real gun so he hides at the bottom of the pool because he didn't want the bullet to hit him. Lincoln is always starting stuff and is always sneaky and manipulative. Remember the Green House, The Sweet Spot, Kings of the Con ( One of the worst episodes), Toads and Tiara's, and pretty much any Lincoln-centered episode.

    • @llim7306
      @llim7306 Před 2 lety +199

      @@icecreamhero2375 actually, Lincoln wasn't originally this way. In the early eps, he had a a bit of a manipulated side but He had mostly good intentions and when he messed up it was either situations beyond his control or he had actually motivations to do something, like in no such luck, he lied about being bad luck because he was stressed out after attending so many of his sisters' events, and I wonder if his family would even listen to him if he tried to explain how he felt instead of lied, plus Lynn Jr. Threatened him with a bat when he tried to tell her he wanted to stay home and rest.
      Also, feel free to disagree, but I won't change my mind, but the sisters have done worse things in the earlier eps.

      Greg is a middle schooler, so him disobeying and being immorally guided makes sense, as long as consequences are received. The Loud House, in comparison, doesn’t carry the exact same “do bad actions, get bad karma and learn a lesson” moral, so it’s much more easier to have a level of distaste for how actions are treated.

    I wondered what the movie was going to be like. Would it deal with the family traveling somewhere like a Christmas party and getting into hijinks?
    No. Its just a selfish sociopathic Lincoln gaslighting and ruining the fun times of his family for a selfish gain. The cartoon Lincoln cares deeply about his sisters and does everything to make them happy. He is the "Man With a Plan" that comes up with ideas to bridge the gap between most of his family members. The fact that he isnt even the oldest sibling but everyone still goes to him for help says a lot.
    Cartoon Lincoln would be appalled at the behavior of Live Action Lincoln sabotaging and gaslighting the family. Jesus, LA Lincoln is making Mandy from Grim Adventures look tame.

It really would have been better to make the parents the one to want to keep everyone together and then the kids could all band together so they could keep their own plans. What was the writers' thought process by writing Lincoln to be a unthinking jerk? Lincoln has made selfish decisions in the past, but nothing of this magnitude.
    Not only that but they also wrote him here to be the most immature of the siblings. Being upset that your older sister will be spending her first Christmas away from the family is understandable, but no one that age would react like that. I'm more surprised how upset he was over it rather than the younger sisters.
    If feels like the writers just don't know what do to with Lincoln these days. One minute he's trying to help a sibling through their problems and the next he's borderline selfish. Like what?
    And the whole subplot with Luna and Sam felt unneeded. I feel like they could've done something better with the two then a "shocking" breakup which will lead to them getting back together off screen.

    This movie was just unbelievably inaccurate to the source material. While a majority of the casting was fine, they messed up Bobby's character terribly. Bobby is meant to be a Mexican-American boy with tan skin, but they cast a Caucasian American from Texas for the role. What's worst is they had him try to pass off as Hispanic by having him falsify an accent and say some Spanish words which just makes it disrespectful. Part of the appeal was the diversity in the cast.
    Another letdown was Lincoln. While he isn't perfect by any means, he's usually the hero of the story who goes out of his way to help his sisters. But they took it too far by making him an outright villain. He nearly destroyed his sister's lives in order to get his way. He got Leni fired from her job, got Luan fired and almost completely destroyed her relationship with her grandfather, he inadvertently made Luna and Sam break up breaking both their hearts, he ignored Lori's wishes and tricked her into coming home in dangerous weather (nearly killing her), and ruined his entire family's plans for Miami, making them depressed. What's worst is when all this comes to light at the end, he's instantly forgiven like he didn't just ruin their lives.
    Overall, this movie was just completely unfaithful to the cast and characters and had a really weird plot. They could've delayed it another month to release it closer to Christmas like it should've been but instead released this train wreck out of season.

    If anything, this just further proves that live action remakes of content that was originally animated ALMOST NEVER WORK! The Lion King 2019, Mulan 2020, Beauty & The Beast 2017, Yogi Bear 2011, The Cat in The Hat 2003, Peter Rabbit 2018, the list goes on! Yes, there ARE good ones, like the 90s TMNT movies and the 2010s Paddington movies, but I can't think of anything else off the top of my head! I still love The Loud House, I have seen EVERY episode so far (except Future Tense, which I chose to skip because it dealt with a subject I REALLY don't like) and while I have noticed the cracks are starting to show, partly because some episodes being rehashes of earlier ones (Flip This Flip is a bit too similar to Back in Black, for example), I can still have a good time watching most episodes old and new! This live action spinoff movie, however, is a waste of space. No doubt they're only doing a live action SERIES because Paramount+ are DESPERATE for content, which I've heard is why Fairly Odder happened! I just accept that seasonal rot is part of life and feel that The Loud House should end around the 7 or 8 season mark. If it ends at either season 7 or 8, it will have had a good long run. I still think the show is better in its current state than that "Do not age up the Louds" jerk Jake Stone claims it is! He thinks that the Louds aging up and Lori going to college ALONE is "killing" the show! He is STILL whining about Luan being in high school instead of middle school (how can he say that when in Diss The Cook, it was revealed that Luan HATED the food she was served in middle school? Oh wait, Stone is BOYCOTTING season 5+ over the age up!) and he doesn't even accept 2 year old Lily as the "real" Lily! He even scheduled TWO "Do not age up the Louds" PROTESTS outside Nickelodeon Animation Studio for November 2021 and January 2022 and guess what? NO ONE SHOWED UP FOR EITHER OF THEM! Just goes to show how unpopular his agenda is! He keeps claiming he can SAVE The Loud House by getting Nick to adopt his demands including sending Luan back to middle school, having Lucy reveal her eyes, introducing recurring villains and HAVING CRAIG MCCRACKEN DIRECT AND EPISODE! NO! Those would RUIN the show EVEN MORE and MANY of his ideas are BLATANT ratings traps! If anything, I'm pretty sure The Loud House's declining viewership and reused plots are signs the show may not be around for much longer. The axing of its sister show The Casagrandes I take as another sign of that being the case. If The Loud House really does end around the 7 or 8 season mark, I'd be PERFECTLY FINE with it, it would allow Nick to shift their focus to new original programming! They gave Middlemost Post a 2nd season, I think it deserves at least a 3rd! I also look forward to seeing what Nick do with their upcoming Transformers and Real Pigeons shows!
