    Hey guys! I just wanted to follow up after the video and say that putting in the remanufactured valve body did not work, and it would need programming. What I ended up doing is taking a valve body off of another G37 that is used and put it in and it fixed my issue without any programming necessary!

      Hey so I have a 06 g35 sedan and I just bought the same transmission and the same model and trim the 5 speed automatic for like 130 off a dude it got 140,000 miles on it instead of replacing the whole transmission I just want to replace the valve body because I got the front brake solenoid code so if I take the one out the new transmission I got and put it in my car will it work and wouldn’t need programming

      Hey, from my experience, I was able to take a used valve body off of another G37 with the same trim and transmission as mine and it fixed my issue without any programming . I would think that it would work for you as well. I don’t want to mislead you or say something for sure, I just want to tell you from my experience that it did work, so I guess take it as you see fit!

    I’m having the same issue as you on my 2015 Infiniti Q50, AWD, Premium. Check engine light is on, throwing code P0720 “output shaft speed sensor”. I’ve seen another video of someone removing the tail section of the transmission to access the actual sensor. Seems like by changing the valve body that maybe the output speed sensor was not faulty on yours?

    I see a lot of people asking about reprogramming the TCM when it is installed- the answer is No. I just replaced mine in my 2016 Q50 with the 3.0t. I bought a new TCM/valve body from Infinity for $2200. The reason I didn't buy a refurbished one off EBay or Amazon was because they all said the country of manufacture is China. Also, if you look at the sellers reviews, most were full of complaints from unhappy people.
    I did the work myself pretty much how the guy in this video did it. I bought a bunch of cheap hand tools from Harbor Freight and then rented a jack and jack stands from ACE. But here's the thing, ACE charges a daily rental fee, but if you rent on a Friday and return on Monday, it is only a one day rental charge which is good. It took me all weekend to do it because I followed each step precisely that I got off a Q50 forum.
    I filled mine a little differently. On the passenger side of the transmission is a filler hole that is capped off. It is where the dipstick would go on most cars. So I filled it through there and took off that little plug on the pan and waited for fluid to drip out of there when it was full. I put the plugs back in and started the car for a minute and shut it off. I then checked and added more fluid the same way.
    But here is the thing, even though it doesn't need to be programmed, it still has to go through a learning curve. It shifts all funky until it is driven awhile. I had to slowly accelerate and decelerate until the shifting got itself figured out. After about a day it was like a new transmission

    • @TrinityParaziader
      @TrinityParaziader Před 11 dny

      @@markzinchuk Sure. No problem. I got a lot of my information off Q50 forums. So I had a code for P0720 and so I changed the speed sensor. That took me a long time because I had to pull the exhaust and the back of the transmission to change it. It was 115° outside all weekend (I live in Nevada). After all that it didn’t fix it. I was so bummed.
      I joined some Q50 forums and saw how many people had that same problem and they replaced their TCM. One guy uploaded the factory Infinity transmission manual. So I printed that to learn how to replace the valve body. So that was cool to have.
      But it takes me way longer than most people because I follow each step to a tee. But I think anyone can do it themselves. There is no reason to pay a dealer to do it.

      @markzinchuk  Před 11 dny

      @@TrinityParaziader Yeah I definitely agree I had to do mine twice since the reman in the video didn’t work but I swapped in the used one and it worked. Doing it yourself is part of the experience too lol!

      glad to hear you didn't have to reprogram, when you purchased did you have to provide infiniti with your VIN? I heard they may program it for you with that when you do, but no sure how true that is
      Also how many miles is your 3.0 and how much was the rental in total? I have 2 Jack stands but not sure if I needed 4

    • @TrinityParaziader
      @TrinityParaziader Před 8 dny

      @@l3gacy430 Okay yes I did have to give them my VIN to buy it from Infinity but they had it in stock. I know that no one programmed it because everything was sealed as tight as a drum. The parts guy went to the back and pulled it off the shelf and handed it to me. Its wrapped in cloth, and sealed inside two bags and then packed into a box.
      So the jack and jackstand rental was $75 a day. But here’s the thing, if you rent them on a Friday and return them on Monday it is only a one day rental. That’s the way to go.
      My car has 47,800 miles on it. So that seems early for the TCM to go out but the way I see it, the car is paid for. Its 8 years old and that’s the only thing that has gone wrong. It’s cheaper than a monthly car payment so that makes it easier for me to justify spending that kind of money to fix it

    @seanmitchell7532 Před 6 měsíci +5

    you had me until you said you didn't understand the transmission fluid fill process then developed you're own method which probably added too much
    the fill hole is a self limiting fill hole/internal dipstick, it extends to just the right height inside the trans when level that the correct amount of fluid stays in an excess comes out, assuming you haven't somehow excessively drained the trans, the running of the vehicle for a moment then refilling is to ensure fluid has made it into every nook and cranny insuring the self limiting fill hole works as intended

      Hello, I see you commented on my video a couple days ago and as shown in the video, I swapped in a remanufactured valve body and that did not end up working. So, this past week, I found a parts car, another G37 with around 100 K miles, and put that valve body into mine. No coding a reprogramming needed to be done, and it fixed the issue! Shift smoothly and goes through all of the gears now! So basically just find a used one, and it will work,hope this helps!

    How much fluid im I supposed to put

    • @markzinchuk
      @markzinchuk  Před měsícem +1

      I looked on the Internet and found how much I was supposed to put in. The trick I learned which in the video I said, I didn’t understand, is that the car has to be level and you have to pump it with fluid and then run it to warm shifts to the gears, and then pump it more until once you take the pump out you’ll see the slight stream. If it’s flowing out a lot , then it might be too much, and if a bunch of bubbles, it might not be enough. A small stream should be enough, but I would look online and there are some great CZcams videos on how to do exactly.

      So with the remanufactured one that I had in the video didn’t work. I think they do have to be programmed though. But an even cheaper option that I did after the video was bought a used valve body off of another g37, put it in and it fixed the issue without any programming or anything!

    Yu said g37 coupe has no dip stick wher do yu get your information

    • @markzinchuk
      @markzinchuk  Před 8 měsíci

      Hey, yeah they do not have a dipstick so there is kind of a process of seeing if you have enough fluid. Basically, there is a drain plug, and then a fill plug on the bottom of the pan. What do you want to do is make sure the car is level and then you put about 3 or so quarts in and then run the car and shift through the gears and make sure it’s warm and then fill up as needed. It should be around 4 or 5 quarts full (I’d look online). When the car is warm, open the fill plug, and if there is no drain and just tiny drops that you need to add more, and if there is a very solid drain, then you might have a little much. You kind of want to get into a middle ground, where there’s a decent flow And you might see some bubbles. There are CZcams videos on it if you want a better explanation. That’s what I did. Hope this helps!

      @BrokeBoiiSuave Yes, my car is a 2014 Q60, which is the same as the G37 coupe, and I got the valve body off of a 2010 G37 sedan. The big thing you have to look out for to make sure it is the same transmission as yours.
