It makes sense too, fire can burn and destroy you, but fire can also save you when you're faced with extreme cold, fire also represents warmth and light... enlightenment too. It's very much Yoongi in a nutshell. He is very much warm, enlightened and a guiding light. But if you fuck with them the wrong way he will blaze the fuck out of you.
In south korean awards shows, Biggest artists have their stage performance in the end and have the biggest screentime. It' really THAT time of the year when you can showcase your abilities and, as we all know, last stage must impress so I'm quite happy cause BTS is doing a great job at this.

TXT (Tomorrow X Together) won Best New Artist of the Year at this award show (2019 MMA) so showing them during the BTS performance was quite nice and they even got a chance to wave!

RM started with Persona and then the group started with Boy In Luv and then went into Boy With Luv. Mikrocosmos was the one with all the stars and planets. For the little "teasers" with each member you had V on No More Dream, Jin on Danger, Jimin for I Need U, Suga for Fire, JK for Save Me, J-Hope with a crazy remix version of Fake Love, lol, and then RM led into Dionysus. The dance Interlude during Dionysus used music from their song N.O.
We need to watch this 200 more times and then, I think we will be ready! 😆

Yes, they do have 3 hour concerts ! They will have a taped performance thrown in, to give the guys time to change, get some oxygen therapy, get their muscles rubbed out, and be ready to continue. At these award shows you can see how the idols support each other, it is just the fandoms that are usually at war. But at most of the award shows, most (not all), fans will change their light sticks to the color of the group performing to show respect and support. Each group has a light stick that represents them. I am not sure if every group has their own fanchants. Tbh, I have only heard BTS fanchants, but I mostly only watch BTS.
I can't forget the behind the scenes video after this performance, how they literally collapsed to the floor and staff had to give them oxygen...and they had to go to their seats immediately after because there were still awards announcements 😱
The fact that this is not even a concert but a AWARD SHOW... AMAZING.
They do make their own beats! They're always producing songs and then when it's time to make an album they either choose the best from the ones they already have saved somewhere on their computer or compose and produce more from scratch, along with the in-house Big Hit producers.

At the end their lights form the boreal crown that dionysus gave to his loved arianna, casted into the sky to be a constellation.
The song is about their thirst for art, with which they can't live without in a way and the dance break is a remix of their song N.O. (super meaningful). The part with the horses was pre-recorded so i think they're alright lol

Going back to pre-debut we have vlogs & videos of BTS creating their own beats & composing music. They have also shared songs in various stages of development in their vlogs. We have heard their demos that didn’t make it to the albums. I’ve never known any artist to be so transparent about their creative process. It’s fascinating.
They do have in-house producers & sometimes rely on outside producers for some songs - but when it comes to beats it’s Namjoon, JHope, & Suga with occasional input on a few tracks by Supreme Boi who has been part of Big Hit since pre-debut.

Later in the reaction, when TXT members were displayed during the performance the Brothers commented “fanboys”. So I edited my comment and added on to the end of it about TXT being label-mates of BTS. Sorry - lack of punctuations caused misunderstanding. I should have just made another comment instead of adding it on to my existing comment.

I love the song Dionysus. They've changed the choreography some here from the original choreography because members kept getting hurt with the original choreo. If you watch their performance of this song on their comeback stage that is the original choreo.

Finally! The most epic performance ever! My mind was blown when I first saw it. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
The BTS individual appearance begins with V representing Apollo. Apollo is the Sun God, who is often depicted by carrying archery and bows, accompanied by the song No More Dream.
The second performance was continued by Jin who represented Athena or the God of Justice accompanied by the song Danger. Jin appeared using a horse that was pushed by the back dancers, and his performance was ended by "removing" the soul from the horse he was riding on.
Third is Jimin who perform solo dance to the song I NEED U .
Jimin represents Artemis, the Moon God, the twin of Apollo the Sun God represented by V.
With the song Fire, Suga looks very swag representing Hephaestus the God of Fire. Suga's savage nature to haters and his excellent musical abilities seem to match Hephaestus's character so that he is a perfect representative of the god.
Jungkook who looks charming with red hair is a representative of Poseidon or Water God. His appearance felt so soft because it was accompanied by the song Save Me.
J-Hope performance was accompanied by the song Fake Love complete with a laser-filled stage . J-Hope appeared so energetic, and because of that he could be considered a representative of Zeus, the God of Lightning.
The BTS individual appearance was concluded by RM representing Dionysus or the God of Wine. Accompanied by a song that has a similar title, His appearance and personality as a leader are well suited to represent that one god.

This was the best way to start my morning. I’ve already watched this performance multiple times now but it never gets old. I’m into other idol groups myself but BTS are just the kings of the industry and nobody can say otherwise - this performance proves it. Also, your wife sounds a bit like my friend. My friend will always be tagging me in BTS related news posts. She did when they got nominated for a Grammy and I was like ‘ive known for several days before you tagged me’ 😂
The solo theme is based on each member representing a different Greek God who will be attending Dionysus’s decadent banquet aka the finale. The song remixes are amazing especially Fake Love.

This is even more phenomenal when you know all the songs and you realize how many hints they had here to future releases and the enormous amount of symbolism used :D Loved the reaction! I suggest checking out MAMA 2018 in Hong Kong, the energy is unmatched 🤯

Some portions of this performance were pre-recorded (RM's Persona performance prior to entering the stage, Mikrokosmos, Dionysus portion with the horses - obviously they couldn't have the audience + horses, the noise would have upset the animals, and the "sleep" setups). Everything else was in front of an audience.
V - APOLLO (with special appearance by Cirque du sole, circus of the Sun)
JIN - ATHENA (not Ares, it was Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom & Battle Strategy who suggested using a TROJAN HORSE to defeat the Persians)
JIMIN - APHRODITE (not Artemis. Aphrodite was birthed whole from the sea same like Jimin was birthed onstage with billowy cloths acting as waves)
SUGA - HEPHAESTUS
JHOPE - THOR (unlikely Zeus, because Zeus will surpass Dionysus, not very fitting)
RM - DIONYSUS obviously with special appearance of THYRSUS the staff and the PANTHERS which is a sacred animal to Dionysus
The thing about this performance, which is what BTS has always done with their end of the year performances, is that they always foreshadow what will be released in the future in some way or form. This performance was after their MOTS: Persona release, so we already knew the theme for the current era was about the journey to figuring out oneself using Carl Jung's psychological theory of the human psyche, but we didn't fully know what was in their next album (MOTS: 7 released early 2020) which is BTS showing what they know about who they are as their own selves and as a group of 7. Since you haven't heard/seen enough of their songs and eras, you might have missed that the sequence of all their individual dance performances included many of their older songs remixed. Also, the connection of Boy in Luv (2019) to Boy with Luv (2014), and the dance break of Dionysus had a remixed version of N.O. which was also from their first era. That's why I try not to recommend anyone to watch this performance until they have seen most of BTS past content because it is truly amazing when you see all the easter eggs and nostalgic references to their past. But oh well, after you do get around to all those songs, I recommend re-watching this performance, then you'll see this performance in a new light.

Most of their songs have alot of choreography theirs a few slower ones obviously but id say like 90-95% are like this and yes there is a dance practice well several for this show. And all of the songs played was their song

Before they sing boy in love there’s the music from Dark and Wild’s intro “what am I to you”. But I think that’s everything 😁 They fit soooo many songs in this performance! Lol
also in the ending song "Dionysus", when you guys were thinking about the meaning of all seven of them sitting there at the table, each member represents a different Greek God from mythology. Which is why the song is named after a Greek God. I cannot remember which member represents which god, only that RM represents Dionysus (which is why he has the staff)

About the beats: They do make beats themselves, and work with in-house producers, but they also work with producers from outside of their company. It's one of the reasons army likes to look up the credits for the songs! But even when they work with producers from other places they always give notes and ask for changes here and there so most (if not all) of the time they're involved in that part of the production.
OHMYGOSH the SECOND you said Mikrokosmos sounded like Tarzan it clicked--it TOTALLY has Phil Collins vibes! I've been saying "Toto" since it dropped but Phil Collins for sure too!

Greek mythology. Dyonisis was the son Zeus. He was born from Zeus' thigh. He's also known as the God of Wine. Every member represents a God. The lights that were coming down with every member make a constellation. In actuality it's the constellation of Dyonisis' wife. He loved her so much that he made her into a constellation. The constellation is in the form of his wife's tiara or crown.
