Treating the CAUSE of ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION, NOT the SYMPTOMS! | Urochannel

  • Are shockwaves still a mystery to you? Have you ever heard of it? Low-intensity shockwave therapy is an innovative treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) that many patients are unaware of. In this video on UroChannel, Dr. med. Dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, a board-certified urologist and sexologist from Göttingen clarifies the benefits and distinctions of this therapy. Traditional ED treatments often address symptoms rather than causes, focusing on medications, lifestyle changes, or surgery. However, low-intensity shockwave therapy targets the root cause-poor blood flow to the penis-by promoting neovascularization, or the formation of new blood vessels. This non-invasive method also activates growth factors, improves nerve function, and releases nitric oxide, essential for erectile function.
Shockwave therapy stands out because it treats overactive pelvic floor muscles that can contribute to ED. Unlike Kegel exercises, which can exacerbate the problem, shockwave therapy relaxes these muscles, enhancing erectile ability. The treatment involves a handheld device delivering shockwaves to the penis and perineum over 15-minute sessions, twice a week, for a total of 12 sessions. It is a safe procedure with minimal side effects and no need for anesthesia. Results can last up to two years, with maintenance sessions recommended based on lifestyle.
It's crucial to distinguish true shockwaves from radial pressure waves, often misleadingly marketed under the same label. True shockwaves are high-energy acoustic waves that penetrate deeply and precisely, while radial pressure waves treat surface-level issues and lack scientific backing for ED treatment.
This video aims to educate and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. If you struggle with ED, consider discussing low-intensity shockwave therapy with a healthcare provider.

Dear Doctor - thanks for addressing my previous question about focus vs radial shockwave treatments! It makes all the difference. My problem is that almost every doctor or men health clinic in Southeast Florida has the less expensive machine - radial wave. It is exactly as you say - the exaggerated marketing claims make you believe they are using the correct method. Furthermore, 99.9% of the patients don't even know there is a different type of wave mechanism. Thanks a million! Regards from "marketing b.s." south Florida.

Doc have you ever seen anyone get worse from shockwave? I have heard a few people say it made them worse

This is highly unlikely. There are hardly any known side-effects. The worst that can happen is no effect. I have never seen nor read or heard about worse erectile dysfunction after shockwaves.

Hello! Thank you for your extremely useful content! May I ask you whether it is necessary to repeat the shockwave treatment after a certain period of time in order to maintain its effect. For example, last year I did 8 shockwave procedures within 4 weeks and the effect was fantastic (right after the first manipulation I had my erection back). However, now, 12 months later, I am having erectile issues again, so I am considering if it is appropriate to repeat the treatment. If it has really been effective last year, what could be the reason for the erectile issues to come back just one year later? Many thanks, Doc!

Yes, shockwaves are effective against penile pain. But you should get a medical examination first to rule out conditions causing penile pain.

The opposite is correct. Shockwaves can revert fibrosis: Young, Attractive, ... IMPOTENT?!? | UroChannel
