- This drone changes everything! The new @djiglobal Mavic 3 Pro is here! I’ve had a busy last couple of days, were I’ve hiked a glacier, took my friends paragliding, went hiking and jeeping into my favourite valley and watched sunset at the top of a glacier/volcano.
What do you think of the three new lenses? This is the first triple lens drone with multiple focal lengths. A wide angle 24mm, a medium telescope lens at 70mm and a tele lens at 166mm.
This is a game changer and makes it possible to capture complete new shots that you haven’t seen from a drone before. This helps a lot with story telling as well, because when you are filming one type of scenario you can get so much variety of shots from every single lens. All of the lenses film in 4k 60 fps and you can easily swap between them with just a press of a button.
The angles and perspectives that you can get are truly unique, and some of the shots actually look like they are shot straight out of a helicopter. With the tele lens you can get compressed shots in high resolution. It means that overall the shot is more compressed and you will see more of the background and you can also create more interesting dynamic movements in your shots. This almost make you want to travel back to every single locations that you have droned before and give it a whole other perspective through the two new lenses.

This was a joy to watch. I was in awe of your friend standing on the peek of that formation with little support, but your drone coverage was even more impressive. The compressed shots of the power gliders, and the horses were epic, imho national geographic worthy. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I plan on visiting Iceland one day. Some of the video and pictures that come from that region are amazing. You did a great job on this as well. I have been on the fence about purchasing this pro. I currently have the Cine version and my little guy the Mini 3 Pro. Ordering today….

Makes me wonder why I ordered it. Somehow, I dont see my shots of the local parks, Universities and Hyperlapses of cars on the highway giving the emotional response of this. 😂

Really epic video and a epic drone 🥰 How do you make all the good videos in Iceland? I thought most spots were off limits for drone flying or do you have a special permit? Or does no one care about that there? I always had a bad feeling to fly with the drone in Iceland 🙈
Very nice video and drone shots :) I am contemplating upgrading to the cine version but have some concerns. Not sure if you can comment but 1) did you feel that the inconsistent colour profiles in the 3 cameras created colouration challenges? 2) I heard some comments that with the 166mm lens the images were a bit soft. Did you experience that? And lastly keep in mind that if you want to fly it "all over the world" you will run into issues with the + 900 gram weight in the EU and restrictions on general drone use ( e.g. Chile) Just an FYI.
