@@TheKillmenowbitch In the event of someone having NOT seen DBZ like the guy in the video, the Canadian subs would spoil a lot of things, as they make reference to things that haven't happened yet, even within the abridged series itself. Therefore, not good for a first time watcher. Why do I need to be on drugs to say that? Do you just insult people when you disagree with them or what?
I love how most of the Abridged characters have satirical versions of their real personality, but Vegeta's personality is basically unchanged and it still fits because he really is that cocky.

@@LycanFerret i like how during the...uh 1st kai abridged iirc, Tien even comment about how he's the only serious character in this abridged series, thats the joke for him, and even that feels pretty close to the source material cause Tien was always so much more serious then anyone else pretty much

Cell's appearance and drinking that guy was my very first experience with anime. I was 4 years old at the time.
And years later, you and your therapist spent months unearthing that memory. Spending countless sessions trying to figure out why you felt intense trauma towards anime.

At this point, it'd be easier to list who either can't or won't do the Kamehameha.
Anyone can, it's honestly just a specialized version of a normal ki attack, which most characters in Z are capable of.
@@itsjudemydude same could be said about pretty much all their attacks, like final flash is literally just firing everything you got into 1 blast, i think the most 'unique' attacks would be the handful with a gimmick to them like the destructo disk thats a ki attack yet it cuts like a blade and can be controlled after throwin it or the special beam canon that corkscrews its energy like a drill to let it penetrate rather that just exploding, heck id argue krillins scatter shot is even more unique then most of the other attacks they usually use cause it breaks up into several projectiles that home in on the target(s)
@@reacreations don´t forget yamcha´s special move he used in the world tournament in his fight with kami. i don´t remember the name of that little ball but he could control it after throwing it as well, it could even move under ground

i STILL stand by that vegeta bit at the end here is one of if not THE best linest in dbza, its already hilarious but to top it off its delivered so perfectly and always catches reactors off guard. its pretty much the moment i look forward to most when i watch people reacting to this series lol
Cell, especially when he's first introduced, is one of my favorite voice-acted parts in the entire series. They really nailed how unsettling the character is. There's a scene in the next episode that's probably my favorite in the entire series, just because of the sense of horror that is created.

@@niceguy1965 I do feel they could have looked at this one since its at the end of the episode, run it through another 10 or so seconds to the vegeta bit then rewind and have a look. Its not like they haven't paused and rewound other shows to look at things or have a discussion.

A lot of people love Cell's voice. If you want more of it, Takahata uses it for his character Asmo in one of Team Four Star's D&D campaigns "Role With Me: Ties That Bind". (Taka also played Borky in another TFS campaign, "The Unexpectables", and in the first few episodes he kept slipping into his Nappa voice.)

Fun fact: Cell does not mention what he intends to do when he meets the androids in the Abridged series. Leaves it vague enough that the later fight makes sense. Thanks for the video.

TFS missed an opportunity to downplay Kamehameha even further. Even Tienshinhan knows it, he actually mocked how easy it was back when he was a villain.

Whereas the turtle/crane schools are all about their physical training and focus? Besides, the dodon ray uses 1 fingure, I'm sure 2 palms would be easier to control.

The transmission joke didn't age too well, although I don't think there was ever any bad intent. Scott (aka "KaiserNeko", TFS co-founder, writer, editor, voice of Trunks, King Kai, Oolong etc.) has voiced his regret about it in their commentary of the series on FourStarBento.
I think people just got overtly pissy over it for little reason but to each their own opinion
To be fair calling the transmission of a vehicle a "tranny" is a pretty common expression even now. Furthermore, 16 is an awkward robot who doesn't understand the nuances of human interactions or social norms, so the fact that he would misinterpret slang is believable. He means no disrespect, how could he? He's a machine.
My father and several other family members are or were mechanics, I grew up hearing the word my entire life, so I was very confused when I came out in high school and wondered why some of the bullies kept calling me a transmission.
According to a short bout of research, the word "tranny" has apparently been a pejorative term for transgender people since the late 1990s or early 2000s, and referred to transvestites since the late 1970s-early 1980s. However, the word is by far more commonly used to refer to transmissions, transistor radios, and film transparencies for about as long as those things have existed. It's also apparently used by Ford Transit van owners. The intended meaning of the word is generally obvious by the context used.
I can understand that sentiment, but for me personally and as a trans person, I think the joke is funny. It helps that the joke doesn't make trans people the butt of the joke and the word at least used to be a common expression in the mechanics world.
