what rubbish. British views on such things as homosexuality are diametrically opposed to those of muslims. The idea of people living together for instance is not acceptable to muslims. As for integration, There is very little integration..... There is a lot of differences between british values, and islamic values

Do we ever have a discussion on Buddhist or Hindu Brits etc ? Very rarely, if ever. The fact that this is a never ending discussion with most Muslims no matter which country or culture it happens in, speaks volumes about the tension and hostility between Muslims and other communities. This is an issue for Muslims to address, not for them to waste time with labels like media hate, islamophobia and other such complete baloney
Dilly makes very important points regarding government and politicians.
he is just passing the buck. It should be the islamic community dealing with the radical members within its community. Making sure they know their behaviour is not acceptable.

Why should it be compatible? What are British values? I abide by British laws such as paying taxes.
Should Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, Judaism and other beliefs and philosophies be compatible with a value that is not properly defined?
I respect British people as human beings not because they are my fellow British citizens. I dont choose to give respect to others based upon their nationality as good people exist in every corner of the earth. And there are idiots and fools within the British community who express their hatred for me and my fellow Muslims in UK and their hatred includes verbal, written insult and physical harm including murder.
I'll keep an eye on sky from now on !!!!!

I think the question is 'is British culture compatible with British values'
I think Islam is more compatible with British values than some parts of British culture and the attitudes of some British leaders.
Islam and democracy to me seemed opposed. The Quran teaches that sovereignty and legislative authority belongs to Allah and democracy says it belongs to the people. How is this reconciled?

No one expects Muslims to drink and "go on the lash" in order to integrate. Not all the native community do these things. It's just that there is freedom which allows it. If your aim is to take freedoms away, that's not British.

By definition 'British values'/ Britishness are broad terms to encompass all values and lifestyles held by British citizens. Hence, the most patriotic guy on the street and the most disillusioned citizen have the exact same level of 'Britishness' and both embody British values.

Absolutely correct. I never see one muslim in Britain in any second world war movie. They were busy conferring with the enemy and plotting the final solution for Jews reurning to their 3500 year old homeland. They will NEVER be British.
