International Mass Choir of The Churches of God in Christ(COGIC) Directed by Mattie Moss Clark Title of album "Because He Lives" soloist:Betty Nelson "1978"
My God! The Anointing moves when singing is done in the spirit of worship! Healing, salvation, satanic overthrow comes as a result of signing like this! Dr. Mattie Moss Clark was truly anointed for singing in the Body of Christ!
It’s not just that voice, nor is it that organ.... but the truism of the words. My life is worth the living just because He Lives! I can face tomorrow, all my fear is gone.
This has always been one of my favorite songs. I can still hear the anointing, and this song is decades old. My favorite part is when Bettye Ransom Nelson stops singing to say, "Thank you, Jesus!"
I grew up listening to this beautiful music style I cannot forget it. The old gospel will live on in my mind rev James Cleveland I love to hear those songs everyday. This new stuff out has no power when they dont sing about the power or the blood or jesus in the songs it's just another song. Jesus the best thing that has ever happened to me. I remember hearing this song when i was 7 from my older siblings growing up and it stuck with me. I want to thank whoever shared this on CZcams it's been a blessing for me hearing this song again. May God bless you in your walk with him and I pray that he keeps you in the fold.
Just Listen to Maestro Twinkie Clark on that organ. The inimitable Mrs Bettye Ransom Nelson on the Lead, Dr Mattie Moss Clark directing and the Second to None International COGIC Choir bringing it ALL together. Wow!!!!
I'm 48, I've listened to this song since it came out, one of the most powerful and uplifting songs ever created, COGIC style!!!! Twinkie Clark is the greatest organ player ever!!!! The lyricist is angelic!!!!
Phillip Moore whenever momma Mattie would repeat " Tell em thank ya, thank ya Jesus, thank ya Jesus, thank ya Jesus thank ya Jesus." Sound like she would be great when it came to tarrying service
Lawwwwd I have searched and searched for this song I know for at least 25 years!! I am SO GLAD I finally found it!!!!!! I have LOVED this rendition since the first time I heard it at the age of 12! Can't nobody "BRING IT" like Dr. Mattie Moss Clark, and can't nobody "WHOOP A HAMMONDS" like Twinkie!! Thank you poster for posting this....BECAUSE HE LIVES!!!
The INIMITABLE Awesome Bettye Ransom Nelson, leading, the incomparable Dr Mattie Moss Clark directing, the Greatest Anointed and Extremely Skilled and Gifted female Hammond B-3 female organist, this side of Heaven, Elbernita "Twinkie" Clark and second-to-none COGIC International Mass Choir. Shelia Mariah Bolar
I love this song, the reality of it, it also brings back prescious memories when I was only 17 and still in high school. The following year in 1979 is when Christ rose in my heart and spirit. I long for the day now when 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18 becomes an actual reality for all believers in Christ Jesus !!!
Not trying to rate anything but Dr Mattie Moss Clark, Dr Betty Nelson and the Cogic International Choir was the best! There is no better version of this they absolutely nailed it. I am so proud to be a part of COGIC heritage
OMG I remember listening to this EVERY Sunday morning while getting ready for church. Been looking for this song for a while.Thank you so so much for posting this, love this rendition...I can face tomorrow, because I know He lives.

Shelia Mariah Bolar Many of us, in fact many colleagues who aren’t COGIC concur with you! That sound was the benchmark of excellence in gospel choir and organ, everybody DID NOT have this sound, but many tried.
@Ikesay ..Correction??..I don't recall to my knowledge ever disputing who this song was written/arranged by....I don't care about all that , I just love this cut,...with hearing Twinkie, Dr Clark, the choir, and the saints in praise.....
+assmithful For real?! I'm profoundly disappointed that you would use youtube to show just how ignorant you really are. And, I will definitely pray for you.

I assune that's Twinkie on the organ. 😊
You know what, I just listened a little closer to it, and it is Dr. Nelson. She's harder on consonants than Sis.Powell.
Shouting
would anyone happen to have this 'live' recording from this wonderful, inspirational album??
And Betty Nelson still sounds exactly the same today with ONE lung...smh
Wow! Bless His Holy name! She has only one lung? God is an awesome God!!!
If I had one lung I too would show up and show out for The Lord. Have mercy!!!
newcreature2011 wow
let's go back to Mason Temple-Memphis and have a old time midnight musical
+assmithful For real?! I'm profoundly disappointed that you would use youtube to show just how ignorant you really are. And, I will definitely pray for you.
You're right, I was mistaken.
@cascadeboi amen to dat!
It is
Please if you can post "If You Believe In God" from this same album if you can.
It's not. It's the other legendary COGIC soprano, Sara Jordan Powell.
read the back of the album its Betty Nelson
Dr. Bettye was inspired by Powell! You can hear the similarities .
It was Betty I sung that night in the mass choir in 79
