We visited the fascinating Intramuros in Manila, Philippines and were amazed and shocked by the history associated with it.
Intramuros has withstood the test of times over many centuries. It started of as a Spanish fortification and was considered as the entire city of Manila at the time.
We would highly recommend a visit to Intramuros in Manila when you're visiting the Philippines.

Filipinos visiting there and paying homage some would shed tears coz they know and feel the hardships so endured and fought by our great great great grand parents for the sake of liberty that Philippines has today. Yeah Hero Jose rizal life was told and depicted there in fort santiago that's why he had a beautiful monument in nearby luneta park his firing squad death and burial site he is facing west in a huge Ph flag coz for him he really treasure and so love the country. Maybe that monument and the pole were built when i was not being born yet. 😂 yeah i know coz it's very old monument. If Filipinos would really trace the hardships of our heroes and soldiers the revolution happened during heavy rainy and typhoon seasons in the Philippines their time in late 1800s to 1889 and then the Americans came 1901 and then WWII was told there too. Can you imagine the wars of our poor soldiers fighting two superpowers in their time? Our another one hero Gen. Gregorio del Pilar was only 20 years old who fought in his time too. I read it in a book about him. It's really a feat to gain liberty for their future gens - we today.
Yeah i love history subjects and reads them but I don't know them all exactly or if our teachers told us right ahaha Historical sites in metro manila and neighbor provinces are many idk if our tourism department would let tourists see them all and even develop them some are very far. The sites are their hiding places, planning and staging of attacks, our history books difficult to find tho. They say UST the oldest in Asia has a lot kept there but not open to all
Dr Jose Rizal was evicted December 30 1896
But im not sure if your saying evicted or erected 😆😆😆but i love those accent thou
@@unotventertainment nope. Not evicted or erected. What I know is 1896 he was already knon to Spain of his revolutionary mind and he was sent to exile in Mindanao I think Dapitan city today. He was put to firing squad yeah December 30, 1896 that so awaken our great heroes to stage war against Spain in 1898 yeah 😂
@@unotventertainment ahahah nope it's depicted or told. Yours is different words 😂

Thanks friend! 😊
Wow a nice place in manila
Salamat! 😊
1:32 the original palace during the Spanish Colonial Period has only 2 floors. After an earthquake that destroyed the structure, the governor’s palace was relocated to the present day Malacañang Palace (kinda far away from Intramuros). It was abandoned until the 1970’s I think. I honestly don’t know why they made it 8 floors during reconstruction haha 😂
Thats interesting thanks for sharing 😊
Of course count me in, watching here . Such an informative video of Philippine History. Thank you for showing your interest about the Philippines, it's history and culture. Hmmm that ICE cream i miss it. Takecare both of you.

Hi guys, different regions in the Philippines has their own specialty food like dumplings in the oldest Chinatown in the world, bulalo in tagaytay, lechon in Cebu, empanadas in Vigan ilocos sur, cheese and avocado ice cream in Intramuros...bon appetit.
We loved both flavours 😊
We call it DIRTY ICE CREAM 🍦 But it’s not Dirty! Enjoy Vlogging MABUHAY 🇵🇭
We actually liked the flavours, very unusual but still yummy 😋
You may try ube ice cream flavor that is made from purple yum...i swear u gonna like it...
We tried it with our halo halo and we love it 😀
Cheese ice cream is very popular, and so are avocado, mango, and cantaloupe melon. If you're lucky, you'll get ice cream flavors that are rarely encountered like coconut macapuno, mangosteen, etc. I suggest you go to a local grocery and bring home a liter container of the various local flavors of ice cream.
Mangosteen would be amazing 🥰
Enjoyed watching this historical and educational Intramuros, Manila tour vlog... so many memories!!! 😍💖💖💖
Thank you! So happy to hear you enjoyed it 😊
Please go to the museums
Will try as much as we can 😊
Avocado and cheese is just the tip of the iceberg here. You want to see most of the flavors? go to a supermarket and go through the ice cream section and look at all the flavors. That is of course just he commercial flavors. There are many shops that make their own. Like somewhere down south, a province actually made a birds eye chili ice cream.
Birds eye chilli is worth a try lol 🤣
Thanks for sharing our history... Mabuhay kayo.
It was very educational and interesting for us 😊
ahh hello, just a random watcher here. but there is an intersting place in Bagac Bataan called Las Cadas Filipinas de Acuzar. It is an authentic Spanish era designed buildings. The feel will bring you back in time during 17 to 18 and 19th centuries.
It is a privately owned place. It is great to include on the places you would visit.
Thanks for the suggestion 😊
@@sunkissedbucketlist those buildings came from different places from the philippines, took down and reassembled, restored and repaired.

I very much like your vlogs! A brief history is always added in your tours. Please include CORREGIDOR in your LIST. Keep it UP!
Thank you so much 😊
did you see the really cool fancy coffee shop in that area? its got its own park surrounding it.
We might have missed it oh no 😢
According to history, Filipinos fought Spaniards, then the Americans, then the Japanese. Very brave filipinos. Thats why Philippines is called "Pearl of the Orient Seas" and the national anthem have an English version as well the title is Spanish called "Marcha Nacional Filipina" which is the original but in Tagalog it means Lupang Hinirang meaning Beloved Country
Amazing people and incredible hospitality 😊🥰
Awesome guys!!! 🤙😎🤘🌈♥️☮️😊 Thank you for sharing your video. 😎 Take care and stay healthy.👍💖☮️
Salamat po! 🥰
Binondo area is just across Pasig River. That is where you can find the Chinatown with a gastronomic feast of authentic Chinese food!
We would love to visit China Town 😊🥰
Try going to cabalen to try different filo/ filipino food (buffet syle). Try also mang inasal, try going to small canteens or eatery just on the street (very cheap)..try streetfood (bbq, isaw, balut, betamax, bananacue, turon, lumpiang sariwa, etc)
Mang inasal is on the list and balut will have to wait until 25k subscribers atleast haha 😄

Wow thats amazing! Such a beautiful church too😊

We would love to visit Eastwood 😊
Try visiting "corregidor island". Just off Manila bay. It's the last stand of Filipino and American forces before Manila fell to Japan during world War 2.
That sounds like an interesting place and we would love to visit 😊
Ice cream flavors in the philippines, mango, cheese, ube, choco, vanilla, buko pandan, durian, avocado, etc
All the yummy flavours 😊
loving the historical facts!
We loved our visit to Intramuros. Such an amazing place with so much history 😊
Guys you should go next North Of Luzon, Province of Pangasinan such as Alaminos or Bolinao. Or you want to be in a colder place, a city in the mountain, Baguio City. And if you want a Spanish colonial vibes, you should be in Ilocos. ☺️
The north is in our travel plans for sure 😊
As regards to the ice cream, yes, avocado and cheese are common flavors here. If you want more cheese ice cream, checknout quezo real flavor of Selecta ice cream That is THE best cheese flavor with cheese bits! Checkout avocado flavor of Magnolia ice cream too. Selecta and Magnolia are Filipino ice cream brands available in all grocery stores and even in 7-11.
Selecta cheese !! Noted thank you 😊
Intramuros is a Spanish camp REMEDIOS church in Malate Manila is a British camp during the battle of Manila bay between Spain and Britain
Oh wow you learn something new everyday 😊
A brief history:
The British occupation of Manila was an episode in colonial history of the Philippines when the Kingdom of Great Britain occupied the Spanish colonial capital of Manila and the nearby port of Cavite for twenty months from 1762 to 1764. The occupation was an extension of the larger Seven Years' War between Britain and France, which Spain had recently entered on the side of the French.
My opinion: I think we would have been a little better under the British colonialism.
Thank you for sharing 😊
Very entertaining vlog with a little touch of history. Nice vlogging guys! You are such a sweetie couple😜
Thanks alot 🥰
1:13 "Palacio del Gobernador" is former residence of the governor-general during the Spanish Colonial Era until an earthquake destroyed it on June 3, 1863. At present, it houses the Intramuros Administration, the Commission on Elections and the "Pag-IBIG Fund" (Home Development Mutual Fund) National Capital Region Office.
Oh thats interesting, thanks for sharing! 😊
This place brings so much memories. We used to have family picnics there back in the days. ❤️
Oh that's a lovely memory 😊
Hope you visited the Rizal Shrine and Museum plus his display of clothes and things inside a Rizal display museum.

@@sunkissedbucketlist hope you enjoy your tour there
@@sunkissedbucketlist UST is just one in our called Universities Belt zone. In front of it and right side there's lot more. We were schooled there. You can go around Sampaloc district, Sta Cruz district and Sta. Ana district of Manila city. You know our district names were still all Spanish names 😂😂😂 we don't want changing them.
There's one site in Sta Ana the oldest burial site of rich Spanish their time. It's beautiful too. It's around near the river, malacañang palace and luneta park by taxi.
@@kilometer6712 "Sta Cruz district and Sta. Ana district of Manila city. You know our district names were still all Spanish names 😂😂😂 we don't want changing them."

it's best to visit the fort santiago in the afternoon when the sun is about to set. the lights are beautiful and the ambiance is different. The dungeon was creepy though.

That is so kind of you to say, thank you so much 😁
Wow
Thanks! 😊
avocado, cheese, and ube are common ice cream flavors here in the philipppines
We have figured out now haha 😄
Yes Avocado & Cheese are some of the traditional and classic Filipino ice cream flavors along with Coconut, Mangoes, Ube and Halo halo. You’ll also find tubs of those ice cream flavors in major groceries frozen section. Filipinos mostly eats avocados as a desert and we’re not use to eating them as toast spread and on eggs like Westerners. Another popular way to eat avocados is to mash ripen avocados in a mug with a couple teaspoons of sugar and lots of powdered or condensed milk.
We would definitely like to try it with condensed milk 🥰
Please do a food crawl in Binondo where the oldest Chinatown is located.
We will most definitely do that 😊
To Filipinos, avocados are for desserts. Haha. We usually have it in ice cream or smoothies form. Cheese is also commonly used for desserts and yes, even in ice creams. You can check a local supermarketand see what local flavors of ice cream we have that may interest you. Cheese is used in the following Filipino desserts- leche flan (it's a flan), buko salad (coconut), pichi-pichi (Cassava), Maja blanca (gelo like made of corn/corn flour ) and bibingka (glutinous rice flour cake) . Make sure you try these. Enjoy your stay.
Thanks for the suggestions 😀 we love desserts haha 😄
we call that dirty ice cream, although it's not dirty. basic ingredients are, cassava starch, skim milk, flavoring and sugar.
We found the flavours to be interesting and Taz liked Avo ice cream so much he had two today lol 😆
WOW 😣😣😣😣😣
Wow indeed 😊
Avocado and WW II
Yes, indeed, it's very normal to have avocado and cheese ice cream flavors =D [*amused at your reaction]; most kids will have both in one cone! Filipinos eat chilled avocado with milk and some sugar which is where the ice cream flavor came about. Avocado for us is a fruit more than veggie, and would be traditionally served after meals; subsequently as salads.
WW II
The natural calamities you mentioned are nothing compared to the direct hit Manila and Intramuros suffered in WW II, Manila being second most devastated city after Warsaw. Prior to that, many of the ruins still stood, although much unused-even the Manila Cathedral was not spared, so the structure you saw from outside had already been rebuilt.
Across San Agustin church is Casa Manila which would have given you a glimpse of the past in terms of lifestyle and living in the latter part of the Spanish colonial era. You should give that visit if/when you go back to Intramuros (in-tra:h-muː'-rohs) :D Cheers.
Oh wow thank you so much for sharing! That's so interesting and we always love to know and hear the history from locals when we're visiting a place 😊
Very nice... Next, Eastwood City please
That is definitely on our bucket list 👌🏻 😊
go to davao, then nearby samal island. u wont regret it
Sounds like a great idea 😊
Fun fact: You can go to any city in the Philippines and ask to go to "Rizal Street" and a local will show you where it is.... 😀
Haha! That's pretty cool 😎
Please visit MANILA BAYWALK DOLOMITE BEACH here in Manila , Philippines 💚♥️
We would love to 😊
