Hey Peter, bom dia. This is Billiejean and I just returned from Fundão a few days ago. Joseph mentioned to me you actually never left! Glad to see you finally got your place and great job. My place will finally be mine in September. To me it seems everything takes so long to get done. You are making amazing progress and good for you. I seem to have misplaced your number but perhaps we will meet up in early September. Keep up the great work!
Billie Jean!!! How are you? It has been an amazing journey and I am so glad you where part and parcel of it. Thank you for the help you gave me on “my last day”! What a turn up for the books. Very blessed :) Thankyou for your message! I have just finished working for the evening, let me know when your here; it it’s great to hear from you and can’t wait to see your place in September :)
Good job done! You can use Uniseals to connect the pioes to the drums, silicone will go off after our hot summers and cold winters..i got them from uk...
Interesting, thanks for sharing. I'd like to see more the system itself. Looks like you're using the slope to make a gravity fed system. Do you need to run any pumps to send the water to the system? Also, why burn when you could compost all those tree branches? That could become very helpful for your operation if you were making your own soil to nurture the trees
Hi Matt, Thankyou for the comment, you got it exactly right, gravity fed is the one. If you have a look at the plumbing and water it shows how I pump the water from the bore hole to the ibc and then I use a rv pump to pump it to the kitchen and shower. Great shout on the composting for sure, maybe turn them into wood chip for chickens or something like that?
Could u bury those tanks, say under 1.5 to 2 feet under ground level? Curious if they would crush under the soil wet, especially if the soil became wet and of course much heavier
Hi there thankyou for the comment AND Drones: there is no reason why they are as far apart as they are. Although, because of the slope of the land, it helped me to not dig as far down into the ground to create the flow of water from one barrel to the next whilst using gravity to my advantage. Hope that helps :)
Hi Peter, sorry for the late reply, a lot of comments have only just come up in my App. Absolutely, I am guessing they will need some sort of cleaning maintenance later on with heavier use, but for now, not as much.
You can make geotextile bags for the sand. Buy a shredder for the cherry pruning, it returns the trees nutrients to the land, and avoiding make fires
Fantastic information there, I shall be looking into geotextile bags for sure, thank you so much Nuno :) great advice

@@Destiny.Carriers Better still, turn them into Bio Char. There are loads of videos on how to do that. Search Terra Preta ;) Your soil will thank you!
Good sir
Thankyou Sir :)
Thanks for sharing I learned a lot.
Thankyou for commenting and watching :) appreciate your time, it’s a pleasure to share the knowledge
Finally caught up with this episode as it was soundless for a while
Soundless. 😮 I shall have to look into that one Alan, thanks for pointing it out. Will try to rectify it. Thanks for subscribing and support Alan :)

That’s a very good point! Great comment. I’m guessing this is why people build concrete walls around septic tanks? Keep them protected!?
Is there any reason the barrels are spaced as far apart as they are? It’s a very nice video. Thanks for sharing!

do the rocks need any maintenance after a year?

A dose of vinegar monthly would work well.
@@Hema1400 how much quantity is a dose?
Oh my goodness... This setup isn't going to work for me.
Hi Sue thanks for the comment :) I wonder what other ideas you can come up with? They will help us grow and adapt , cheers 🥂
I’m confused
I hear you
