Is this like a metal version of wood carving? End result looked good but that's all I'd trust it for. Never seen you touch a hammer the whole video, and that heat treat was a joke. Your attention to detail though is spectacular. Goodluck on future builds
Just awesome craftsmanship made from a bit of scrap metal, it makes me sick why people throw shit away sometimes without using their imagination to make something out of nothing. Always look at your stuff from another angle before you chuck it and give it ten more years of a new life, one of a kind and not manufactured! A job well done mate and good sweat. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿😊
That's an amazing knife! I love doing metal works but for now I'm doing wood turning. Maybe one day I can incorporate it on my channel once I have enough tools. Thanks for sharing
Very cool knife. Just a tip. Use a magnet 🧲 to test the edge when differentially heat treating the edge. I don’t think there’s anyway that got near hot enough to Harden the knife. Or use a file to check the skate of edge. Very cool design and idea. God job.
Sweet. I enjoyed every minute. I like the time lapse. At first i was like thats a thick piece of steel but when you started removing the stock i was diggin it. Great job.
Gary Flores I have the same vice. You can pick them up next for nothing. Harbor Fright, Home Depot. The base I don’t have. Most of what I have is bolted down on a work bench. If that helps.
Here in the Philippines, we utilize such raw material in which we call such leaf spring as “Mulye” from the Spanish word “Muelle” meaning Dock, Pier. We have local merchandisers here wherein they sell Itak Mulye and Jungle Bolo. Cheap and affordable yet very durable. I bought a cleaver 4 years ago ( 8-inches long, 3-inches wide and a quarter of an inch thick blade) I use it as a Butcher’s knife and as an axe to chop firewood. Very reliable. Haven’t sharpen it since then but still good as new.

Wow. Such and awesome design and excellent execution. The finish looks beautiful of course, but I would give my right eye for this blade a stone washed finish and some thin and contoured micarta handle on-lays. its an amazing piece though. Not sure why there are so few if any comparable production options with a similar design. Seems very practical to me. Do you sell these at all?
Wow that's some thick steel. It must weigh a lot. Everytime I see someone removing steel with a grinder making a knife I cringe. Keeping the steel even and not wrapping the blade is really difficult. You have some talent, cutting steel with a torch. That knife is a beast! I wouldn't want to have to carry that knife very far on my hip. I'll end up walking in circles. You knife turned out nice. It would definitely chop bone. You should call that knife. The Bone Crusher, or The Beast! Its definitely that and more.
Excellent insightful work. However the blade is too short for chopping& cutting wood. The only thing I would have done differently is enlarged this bladed Instrument device up to the point of the Leaf Spring's hole towards the later half end of the spring .
I must say this must be one of the coolest knifes axe being made i enjoyed watching
That vice stand adaption was pure genius

Great video. Knife design is great.
Raise your hand if you watched his masterful skill til the end
Good job. Looks really nice, but need proper heat treat.

Ну это даже круче чем шпатель Кочергина. Яблоки резать им настолько удобно, что они аж лопаются от его толщины.
Примерно так оно и есть 👍
Для дровишек само то .
My favorite knife make yet, unique, that is definitely serial killer worthy.
I like the design. The heat treat though.
So wear can I buy one of these!?
That stout cleaver could quickly become a butcher's best friend.
That's an amazing knife! I love doing metal works but for now I'm doing wood turning. Maybe one day I can incorporate it on my channel once I have enough tools. Thanks for sharing
The shine on that knife is making my fingers and toes tingle.. when you have polished something to perfection before you'll know what I mean.
That knife looks like it could of been a sword still bad ass 😁👍
Enjoyed this thoroughly. Thank You for Sharing Your Excellent Craftsmanship. 🙏❤
Holy Smokes , I'd Love to own a personal grooming device like that 😏.
Great job! Doesn't get any more simple or functional than this.
That is awesome luv the design , They ergonomics of it, and the heftyness of it
Outstanding! USMC approved 🦅🌎⚓️

Give that man a BELLS! You are a true master at what you do!
That heat treat might be why your edge is the way it is
The way it is? How so and what's wrong with it
I’ve never seen a leaf spring that thick.
It's from a truck.
That is 1 of the most beautiful 😍 lil custom chopper I've ever seen can u make me 1 please 👍😎🇺🇲
Never mind the knife I’m more interested in the vice and the stand it’s on. Now that’s an idea thanks , great job on the knife though

Also. Mostly what you want if your into knife making. His sander he has. Very nice....
you are extraordinary not everyone can do it.....😍
Turned out very nice . Great design.
I’d buy one. Awesome work.
That bad boy would start to rust really quick

Beautifully simplistic design. Nice attention to detail on the craftsmanship. would love to buy one if you considered a short run of those.
So amazing, great job. It sure was nice to see that by the end of the video you had laid off the coffee...hahahaha
I love the way that vice is mounted at 2:00
Vice: Wicked or immoral behavior. Vise. A large clamp to hold items.

this is very inspiring! I made one this year and it turned out great! it holds an edge like no other!
That flat spring alloy is great for these things.
У нас в Сибири в -30 таким ножом можно поработать два раза. Один раз одной рукой, другой раз другой.
Можете побробнее рассказать?

Ну что это? Топор не топор, нож не нож! Острая железяка.
The extra thickness increases resistance of cutting.
