- Here's a look at the Perfect Dark reboot from The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics. This secret agent thriller is set in a near-future world. Get your first look at some brand new Perfect Dark gameplay showing off your spy skills as Agent Joanna Dark in this Perfect Dark trailer.

Perfect Dark was actually like Goldeneye 2.0 when it came out, it was an amazing game
It was actually supposed to be a sequel to Goldeneye but Rare couldn’t get the rights to make their own Bond story so they kept the engine and ground work they already made and created Perfect Dark instead
Fact: Golden Eye was revolutionary when it came out in 1997 because it was the first videogame that featured enemies who could "activate alarms," when they spot you on sight. Perfect Dark took elements from the original game and improved it with advanced artificial intelligence, and better graphics and the multiplayer was on par with Unreal Tournament. Best console shooter in 2000 before Halo.
It's was awesome game , the single player missions in GE007 were far better though , combat SIM more than made up for it

He would always get furious because he could never figure out how he kept getting killed. It was strange because he knew that all the guns had a secondary fire mode but he just never did figure out the laptop gun one.

Brown/auburn on N64 and more red with highlights in 360 (Charlies Angel's was big at the time) and a hot femme fatale in both.
Now she has a dude jawline and karen haircut.
It's like the general gameplay is borrow from modern deus ex, parkour from dying light and combat mecanics a bit from mirror's edge... what a perfect combination.

Why can't we just get a perfect dark remaster for the n64 version
There already is a 4K/60 remaster from 2010. It's on Game Pass.
There's also free PC source port of the original N64 game. It's literally a 1:1 port, not emulation. Uncapped resolution and frame rates, netplay, M+KB controls... There's also a small community making new missions and the like. Check it all out. Us Perfect Dark fans are pretty spoiled compared to most.

Im glad someone else is working on it. Rare lost it! That studio is not the same anymore.
Most of the original Devs left and formed Playtonic games. Rare was essentially made into a kinect studio for a bit, was a travesty that likely killed off any creativity, hopefully it's in capable hands (and it looks like it is!)
Trust me you wouldn't want current Rare making PD. Alot of the talent responsible for the original left immediately AFTER that game. To form their own team and make a little game called Timesplitters.
