I had a conversation with my 5 year old daughter…. Her friend goes to a non denominational church, they have a big kid’s ministry and lots of games and crafts while the adults listen to the pastor read scripture for an hour…. Anyway she loves it and really wants to go with him. We were praying to mary one night together and she asked me “why dont they have statues of mary at the kids church?” I looked at her seriously…. I said “they dont pray to mary or have statues of her at the kid’s church sweetheart, they say it’s bad to have pictures of anything but the cross.” She looked at me confused. “But i saw a statue of mary there! At christmas they had mary and baby jesus statues” I couldnt help but realize that my 4 year old realized the hypocrisy. “I said well i guess they figure its ok to have images and statues for christmas hahahaa but bad the rest of the year.” She goes “why?!” I said “i dont know sweetheart, it makes no sense. At least we have the statues of her at our church all year” she said “i like our church cause i love mary” i was so proud! I got a little catholic apologist on my hands fellas. I think she might be able to beat the Protestant in this video in a debate 😂

Yep. Just experienced this in a discussion. I was answering objections to Catholicism (they barely let me speak) and I would try to dig into the deeper exegesis of the text. They kept things superficial and then spoke over me calling me a whole lot of names.

@@John_SixAs a newly convert to the Catholic Church, it’s still perplexing to me that Maccabees, at least the first and second books, aren’t considered canon outside of Catholicism and Orthodoxy. Even without the theology implications of prayers for the dead and such, it still contains a lot of important history of the time.
I’m guessing the theology implications is exactly why Luther wanted them removed.

As an Orthodox Christian i am impressed by his knowledge of scripture and i am sure it is very hard to respond to objections as confident and strong as his without saying he is just “prideful”.
There is far better catholic apologists than this guy and many good protestant apologists have debated them, just because no one has debated this guys doesn’t mean you should elevate his ego.
For me, it’s the fact that the Bible specifically says not to lean on our own understanding, but Protestants literally doctrinally preach leaning on their own understanding because they don’t believe that you should look to any authority to explain what the Bible is actually saying.

The word Catholic was first coined 101 or 68 years after Jesus death on the cross. Hope this helps you find your way to the First Apostle Church.

Catholics do not worship on the Sabbath, which according to Jewish law is the last day of the week (Saturday), when God rested from all the work he had done in creation (Gen. 2:2-3). Catholics worship on the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week (Sunday, the eighth day); the day when God said “Let there be light” (Gen. 1:3); the day when Christ rose from the dead; the day when the Holy Spirit came upon the Apostles (Day of Pentecost). What I don't understand is why people who have rejected Catholicism care what we think or do, or why they think we want to know why they are not Catholic. That is their business. They are free to believe as they wish. A puzzlement.

I know. They're continually juxtapositing what they believe against what they say Catholics believe, even though it's not what Catholics believe. It drives me nuts too. I think they're trying to give themselves, their tradition, legitimacy. They have to have this "good guy" vs "bad guy" dichotomy to keep their constituents charged up. It keeps them in offensive mode. They make it evil or unchristian for people to even investigate what the Church teaches... Their livelihood depends on it.
Well we as people want to be right so that's why I think. Gotta forgive em. I'm ex catholic but love Catholics and don't try to convince them my theology is better than theirs. I hate division in God's Holy habitation.
I think there's a more charitable reason. I have Christian (nondoms) whole genuinely believe Catholics are going to hell so they do what they do to save souls, the same way they try to with atheists, Muslims, etc

They act like baptism, Holy Eucharist listening and learning from the authority of Saints is MEN made yet they say just worship the Lord Jesus and you don’t need all these “acts” BUT Jesus Christ himself gave us the commandments to be baptised to receive his body and blood, gave Peter the authority over his church.
Yeah, they keep forgetting literally all of the Sacraments are linked to Christ and established by Him. And they keep forgetting the Eucharist is the literal body of Christ and he commanded us to eat his flesh and drink his blood.

I was baptized as a Catholic, and then as an adult I decided to study the Bible myself because of course I thought I knew enough to understand what it meant on my own. This is why God specifically warns us not to lean on our own understanding.

My attorney, a great guy, is an Evangelical Christian, and our discussions are awesome. I've used your instructions to answer him in our discussions. So please keep these types of bantering going so we Catholics can keep them in line. I gave him the link to your debate with Dr. James White; he was very impressed. Our last discussion was on the Pre-Raptures, which, of course, is not possible as per scripture. He spent three weeks studying the Raptures, and he was stunned by what he realized was the fact that his church was incorrect in its interpretation. That shook him to the core. So, when we can guide these misguided souls in the correct direction, it falls on all of us to do so, and you, my brother, are awesome at instruction and guidance. I think its that we are in a virtual time and many people do not take the time to read academic books. when I was in the MA program in Fordham, I encountered similar "ignorance" of classmate that refused to read the documents of the Church, or Theologians.

I think as Christians we should remember we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. I find those titles about 'destoying' other people, especially brothers and sisters in Christ very distrurbing.
