I was fortunate enough to see this cast live. Just now I realized this Michael now plays another very popular Michael which means I saw George Salazar live, right in front of me in the theater and now every fangirl would be jealous 😆 Nick and Ciara are so talented as well, I wish I lived closer to New York to witness such amazing performances more often
Tick Tick... Boom was a one man show written and performed by Jonathan Larson back in the early 90s before he wrote/composed Rent. After the success of Rent, people wanted more John Larson, but he died before Rent even hit broadway so some of his older works were looked at. Tick Tick Boom was one of them. It was tweaked a bit, adding 2 more characters, and new staging/arrangement, and was performed off broadway in the early 2000s staring Raul Esparza. The rest is history!
To be honest.. I love their voices! But I feel like Lesie Odom, Karen Olivo, and Lin Miranda did better for Tick, Tick... Boom! But we all know that can't happen..

Why is the accompanist playing a keyboard when there's a real piano right there?
i think in some of the songs/scenes not shown johnny plays piano, so they have an actual piano for those parts.
