      @@SwissFamilyFun We just came back from 2 weeks of travel in Switzerland 🇨🇭. Did 5 hikes ( Grindelwald First to Bachalpsee, Murren, Männlichen Panorama Route to Kleine Scheidegg, Gornergrat to Riffelsee, and Grimselsee. Got the idea from your vlogs, thanks 😊

    0:48 I tend to agree. Schilthorn has magnificent 360-degree views and it doesn't take as long to get there (Jungfraujoch train takes about 2 hours one way starting from, say, Lauterbrunnen). Of course the Jungfraujoch is its own unique experience, it's like a different world suspended above the planet. BTW, it's worth nothing that all the hikes mentioned in the video have starting and ending points within easy reach of either a cable car or a train.

    I always carry a Swiss Half Fare card, saves a lot of money even for us who spend most of the time hiking.

    We too took the cable from Lauterbrunnen to Grutschalp then hiked to Mürren basically following the train tracks then on to Gimmelwald and the cable down to Stechelberg. May 2018

      Great choice! I never walked along the tracks but I heard it's very nice. We did the mountain trail above and parallel to the tracks, more work but worth it I think.

    Such an amazing location, making plans to go in October. Hopefully it's possible it's safe to travel at this time. Can you tell me if all the prices are lower in October like train and cable car rides? I visit the location earlier and always buy a card for a couple of days. But it's quite expensive these days.

      Christian Burrell yes, I originally had the eiger hike in here but I had to cut it. I'll have to hike it again and video it.

    Are all the hikes accessible by car? or train? Planning to hike as much as possible wondering if it is best to use a car or train. Car can leave whenever, but have to pay for parking and gas. Train have to wait and go based on train times. What do you advise if just have 4 days?

    Hi! Your video is very informative. Thanks! Planning to go to jungfrau this october. Im planning to purchase the 3 day jungfrau pass. Does this include the price for the hikes?

    • @SwissFamilyFun
      @SwissFamilyFun  Před 4 lety

      The Jungfrau pass covers the mountain transport for all these hikes except the cable car from Murren to Schilthorn for the first hike in my video. Hope you have a great time there!

    So for the Murren trail where do you take the furnicular/train up?

    • @SwissFamilyFun
      @SwissFamilyFun  Před 6 lety +1

      For the Mürren trail I talk about here, I took a cable car from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp, then walked to Mürren where you can take another cable car back down to Stechelberg. Details here: www.momstotszurich.com/2018/01/murren-mountain-view-trail.html/ Hope this helps!

    Hi, I'm wondering is it possible to hike with the 2 kids bike trailer (Fahrradanhänger) to Mürren? Thank you

    • @SwissFamilyFun
      @SwissFamilyFun  Před 2 lety

      Not on the Murren Mountain View trail but probably on the obstacle free trail that parallels the mountain train that goes from Grütschalp to Mürren. You might have to pay for a ticket for the trailer since its so large.

    Hi good day! Im planning to go to jungfrau region from october 23 to 27.
    was wondering if by any chance if these trails are open for hiking:
    bachalpsee-first
    eigergletscher - klein scheidegg
    mannlichen - kleine scheidegg
    mannlichen royal walk
    murren mountain view trail
    Thanks in advance

    • @SwissFamilyFun
      @SwissFamilyFun  Před 4 lety

      That's a little late in the season but maybe. Looks like the Grindelwald-First and Wengen-Männlichen cable car both run until 27.Oct. The Grindelwald-Kleine Scheidegg train runs year round. So all these trails should be accessible except the Murren Mountain View trail, since the Grutschalp lift only runs through 30.Oct. However, it could snow in October making these paths inaccessible. So be flexible. Hope you have a great trip.

    I have a silly question, is it possible to get lost in any of those 5 trails?....if yes, will there be signs for rescue contacts? ....in case that I will be the only person on the trails and assuming that my US phone won't have coverage there...

    • @SwissFamilyFun
      @SwissFamilyFun  Před 6 lety +1

      ProDefensio Imagia all of these trails are very well marked and it would be difficult to get lost. It is also a popular region, so it's unlikely you will be the only one on the trail unless you go on a rainy day. There are no rescue call stations on the trail. Best to inform someone of where you are hiking and set up a time to contact them after the hike to confirm you are safe. Otherwise they could send a rescue team looking for you. On these trails, you are not too far from civilization and help is not far away.
