    I jus went through 2 belts yesterday. 3rd belt still on thanks to this video.. I believe this more than other vids fixes problem because other vids don't even bring up this could be a issue. Extra spacer and Align

      Ya, aligning the belt worked for me. I just recently pulled the torque converter off and the belt looked almost new .

    When I put the spacer on the outer cover grooves don't reach the nut...does it matter if that spins and isn't locked over that long nut?

    Hey @Black66 what size washer should ask for at the hardware store for this. If you remember, thanks

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Před 5 měsíci

      I usually buy 3/4 washers in different thickness . That way I can add washers until the driver in in alignment.

    Got a problem. In my country I can't get a predator engine but similar. The problem is the jackshaft dismeter is either 18mm or 20 mm. Do you think the cvt kit will fit in one of them

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Před 11 měsíci

      Maybe you could use an adapter on one of them. They sell them on Amazon

    • @str8xrippin
      @str8xrippin Před 10 měsíci +1

      Won't work these cvts are
      3/4 meaning 19mm bore. If your engine was 5/8 or 16mm then you could buy a adapter that will bring it up to 19mm but since your shaft is 18mm you can see that's a bit smaller than 19mm and 20mm is too big. Your best option is to go to a machine shop with your crankshaft and ask them to machine it down to 16mm precisely. Then you can buy the adaptor

    I gotta stage 2 predator 212 with a torque convertor, my max rpm is 4300 shouldn’t I be hitting like 7000?

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Před 3 lety +4

      Ya, a stage two Predator should hit 7k or more but the load of the torque converter and gearing most likely will slow it down some. A lot depends on the gearing you are running. If you are running a really small gear on the axle, that will tend to load the engine down and make it turn slower. But let's say you put a big gear on the axle like a 72 tooth,then it would rev higher because of less load on the engine. It's easier for the engine to pull a 72 gear than say a 53 tooth gear.

    How long was new bolt exactly? What type of washer did you use ?

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Před 3 lety +2

      The washer itself is 4.75 mm thick. Any type of metal washer that will fit over the 3/4 shaft will do. The bolt is 55 mm long. You can pick these up at the hardware store. They don't have to be exactly this size. It can vary a little.

    • @MrRicoRelz
      @MrRicoRelz Před 3 lety +1

      @@Black66 thanks for the response. I ended up have some washers laying around and one fit, now for the right size bolt and belt .

    • @Black66
      @Black66  Před 3 lety

      @@MrRicoRelz Ya, thats all you really need to do. The bolt and washer dont have to be exactly the length I used. As long as your bringing out the pully a little bit and putting it more in alighnment with the other pully. Then your good.

      In some applications, the driver needs to stay in a locked position so as to not interfere with chassis components. This is why alignment is crucial to long belt life.

    • @DrewMade222
      @DrewMade222 Před 2 měsíci

      @@Black66 alright. yes alignment is crucial. By not applying the spacer between the sprocket and driven pulley there's no need for an extra spacer between the driver pulley and the engine. pretty simple

      @@DrewMade222 Havent had a belt failure on the channel so far. Even raced the GPS 180 3 hour endurance race and the belt looked great after the race. I think alignment and a quality belt are the key to a long component life.
      At least in my experience. That's the beauty of this hobby and others. Everyone does things in their own way .And... as long as its fun, its all good! IMO
