One thing I've noticed about the Shoto crossup: Sometimes it seems that you can't perform it even on midscreen. I haven't actually tested it but I think it depends more on how far away the camera is from your back. If you are closer it causes your opponent to hit the edge of the screen and stay closer to you after the final grab.
There is another thing one might find useful is alex can actually chain c.lk into sweep, its a little hard and doesn't combo, but if you do it on block your opponent cannot jump in between, if i remember correctly renic has a video on it, its useful because alex has a common setup which goes like c.lk into powerbomb because of just right frame adv and pushback, its a little predictable and everyone has seen it, but if you chain c.lk into sweep they have another thing to fear and if they read power bomb and you sweep you win the interaction and open rooms for actual powerbombs one can go into c.lk into standing mp but its vulnerable to shoryus.
