Ok. Sweep chips off the area before installing replacement slate. Straighten replacement slate some. Fair job, keep it up !
Clearly learning fast! Let's face it - it takes guts to be a roofer!
Should use the handle of the hammer to push the slates up so not to damage them.
And split the rubber handle of a £70 Estwing? A few taps won't damage the slate I've done hundreds of roofs

Soft metal tingles are for bodgers, if you’re going that route, use a proper slate hook. If a slate falls from above, that is getting bent down and releasing your ‘so called’ fix.

I can't get on a roof with more than a 2% grade.
People in comments obs are not roofers , first slate was lucky to land on the lath the second slate is floating not a great job
How is it floating ? It's flush to the bottom of the slates next to them so it must be on the batten what do you think she nails the lead strip to ? F@ck all? . It's why she uses the ripper to pull the clouts out
You can see it’s floating because it’s not flush with the slates next to it , I can tell your a site worker lol
