Lara just hit that hard, and self hatred was too tiresome.

Hello lovers, thank you for this little bonus where we learn that Rollen is a real sadist for Angie. you didn't want to open the window for her, preferring that she was overheated. You are too funny!! When it comes to Lara, you can love all kinds of music and genres, but in her own style, she's the queen. We will not stop saying that she has a voice that takes the guts. Its called melisma when she interspaces her melodic line with tiny rapid interflexions of notes... Mariah Carey did this a lot. Also called a riff when it is more pronounced. At leat that's what I think you are trying to describe.

I don't believe he's talking about melisma/runs here. The tempo & the number of words per measure increases dramatically in a few places. There IS a word for it, but damned if I can think of it. 😆

Okay, because I'm a nerd I went back & looked closely then looked up a few things.
Her "I" on "I guess I loved you" often is a riff, taking multiple beats for one tiny word.
The lyrical line I gave a timestamp for above does pack twice the words into each beat - a change in rhythm in the lyric line. Songwriters seem to call it syncopation, though that word is used by them differently than either musicians or dancers understand "syncopation".
@@DoggieFosters for syncopation listen to a great example in her bossa nova beat "Tout" in her Un Regard 9 concert.
This is a live acoustic version of the original, longer, more orchestrated album version of the song. Both versions are great, but Lara loves to play with the tempo in the live version. Also that's why it's so short.

Yes this song was a little short one, but very very beautiful. And magnificent vocals by Lara as usual. It was almost like the studio version. But with more feeling. That's Lara's trademark.

This song she wrote talks about suicide, even it may looks like she is talking about someone leaving her, she is talking about herself not living anymore. Knowing that Lara's compositions are often based on personal experiences and that it was a dark time for her, It make me sad when I see her expressions in this video, perhaps more real than played.
I love this song too, but I think there is a mistake in the translation when she talk at the beginning: «because they don't love each other anymore» should be «because they no longer loves themselves». Which gives a very different meaning.
I recommend you a Spanish singer, her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdon" she is a singer who sings different musical styles. With a very particular voice and incredible melismas. Greetings from Spain
