    Fantastic. Lasha is phenomenon. Even As an Armenian I am proud of Lasha. Georgian brothers value Lasha alot, such athletes are unique and you can not witness of too many of them in Your lifetime.

      @@aditwani6562 I mean there is nothing to disagree with. He went up the minimum to get the world records - because he gets bonuses. That’s why he didn’t even go for 225 in the snatch, let alone 500 total. This has been standard practise forever in weightlifting

    Only a short time ago it seemed crazy to even think of a 220+kg snatch .. and a 265kg Clean & jerk .? he already had the Gold medal won... with his first lift in each discipline , he didn't need to do more than 2 lifts to win the whole competition !

    Now, this is the quality coverage I've been waiting for. Eurosport just showed the final bits with virtually no commentary. I have missed the commentators' names but remember they were the ones covering Rio too and thank you for the upload as it's always so much better when commentators share your joy for the great success of your favourite athlete. ლაშას გაუმარჯოს!

      @@Whitegorillaboy Lasha is literally the greatest superweight in history which is frankly incredible considering all the other bests in history in other weight classes pretty much all are from the 80s. I'm not Geogian or white so don't claim it's ethnocentricity. Lashsa is literally just the best superweight in histroy. Also their is nothing wrong with being a fan of a lifter because they are from your country

    i really appreciate the commentator at 1:09:30 encouraging less experienced lifters, as so many feel ashamed of "failure." it's simply a learning experience, you only fail by not following through.

      Рекорд Тараненко 266кг в толчке Лаша обновил позже в декабре 21г взяв вес 267кг.Феноменальный атлет,моё искреннее уважение Лаше и Грузии.

    I was expecting 267+ from Lasha in Olympics. He lifts 270 in practice sessions. Hoping that he fulfills it in an official competition before it's too late. Nevertheless it's a great show at Tokyo. Best wishes for upcoming world championship in November.

      Each record broken secures an additional stipend from the Georgian government. It wouldn't make sense to break your record once and then never again.

    His and his coach know what they are doing and he stays with in what he knows he can do without risking injury. There will come a day when he will hit 500kg total. But until then why should he strain or hurt his self.

      He gets pension from Georgian government for each WR break. If you make money from your sport, you will intelligently break records in very tiny amounts over a longer period of time.
