Wins and losses of a Chinese girl leaving school to sail around the world

In 2012, Zhai Feng and his wife sold their possessions and resigned from their jobs to travel the world by boat with their 8-year-old daughter, Xinxin.
Now, 20 years old, Xinxin reflects on her extraordinary upbringing during a recent meeting at a seaside resort in Huizhou, Guangdong Province.
Over two years, the family sailed to nine countries.
At 10, Xinxin flew to Australia with her father in a powered delta wing aircraft, and at 13, she joined her parents in Bali, Indonesia, where they ran a youth camp.
However, the prolonged departure from traditional education once caused Xinxin to experience confusion during her upbringing.
Her father, Zhai Feng, believes nature has been her best teacher.
This June, Xinxin will leave her family to explore the world on her own.
