- This is the moment a driver overtakes a police car at 125mph on a two-lane A road. Kaleem Ibrahim, shot past in a Mercedes before also going past a silver car. He wasn't pulled over as there is no speed limit on the Isle of Man's A18. A spokesman for the island's police force said that although driver's aren't restricted on speed, they are required to remain 'within their limits and pay due care and attention to the road'. It was filmed on June 9, just after the TT motorcycling event that lasts for two weeks. There were five collisions on the road in the second week of the event.

@@tredfxman so far I've hit 161 in my MK7 GTI, it can go a bit faster but got it on winter tires and I ain't trynna die, it had a catless downpipe, milltek exhaust and a tune when i hit 161, just installed a new turbo inlet pipe which should give around 10hp and I'll slap it on the Dyno for a new tune and to know what power it makes

Unfortunately a 'one way street' sign doesn't physically prevent a vehicle coming from the other direction. Nor does is stop a deer or sheep crossing the road, nor a tyre blow out. It's interesting how self preservation and appreciation of danger don't kick in until a man's later years. We've all been there, I've been there, but no way would I do that now.

That sounds amazing, altho I Generally don't follow the speed limit anyway after my first and only fine for 2km/h to fast(about 1.25mph) and that was 50 euros.
And not dangerously fast but just drive an appropriate speed over the speed limit(depends on the road, sometimes it is the actual speed limit other times its 15-49 over the speed limit).
@@tilburg8683 bloody hell? Afine for 2km ONLY over??. In the UK most police forces use SpeedLimit-10%+2. So in a 70mph zone you will only get a ticket if you are doing 79 over.

Pretty sure this is on the Isle of Man, and therefore isn’t breaking the speed limit.
Speed limits are only set in Douglas itself & not out on the main roads on the rest of the island.
Most of the main roads I've seen on the island are signed at 40 or 50 though and only the narrow back lanes seem to be black slashed. There is a section of de-restricted main road between Peel and Cronk-y-Voddy, but not sure it's conducive to being driven that fast outside the TT.
Source: me, I've been to 🇮🇲 and am looking to relocate: nice place, and I hate the tax system in my native 🇬🇧. If only Jeremy Hunt had _scrapped_ the CGT instead of effectively raising it...

@Kira It’s the fastest way to get from the north of the island to the south and vice versa so basically everyone on the IOM has driven it at some point. It’s a fun road to drive since there’s no speed limit and it’s a nice scenic drive, though less so when it gets foggy.
@Kira Not a random road though, it’s a world famous road used for the IOM TT and MGP races, I don’t live there but recognised it.

Even as a German with an unrestricted Autobahn its crazy to see a clip like this on a road which is not a highway and has a lot of curves.
If you think about, if they are both on the wrong side of the road, they will miss each other anyway

@@abdullahz4804 Yeah, sometimes. I mean... I got my license almost a year ago and I drive a modded 350hp Audi S3... Did it all myself. It's no AMG, but it's still super quick. 0-60 is in the high 3s - low 4s which is just as fast as a C63 AMG.

Only legal if you are within reason and safety... When there is no speed limit the general rule is that you must not drive faster then that you can stop for anything on the road. So if there is car stopped in the middle of the road around a blind turn you can not drive faster then it being possible to stop before hitting it. You can still get a fine for reckless driving if going to fast.

Been here a few times for the TT. What a great place and lovely people. Last went in 2019 for the TT, and to our disappointment they had speed limits on most of the roads outside the towns...but not on the mountain road 😃

I only had to see a couple of seconds of this to know where it was filmed. It was obvious, as I've been along that road many times a lot quicker than 125mph. It's the time to really open up after the Gooseneck and the Guthrie Memorial. Still more fun on 2 wheels than 4.

As most comments say about “no speed limits”, but there’s laws of wreck less endangerment to others which has no bearing to speed but to your placement on the pavement and overtaking in tight or even slippery conditions that come under a safety regulation, common sense needed sometimes as a powerful car doesn’t automatically make you a racing driver and sometimes you just just run short of talent....
