I miss Billy, was always around my family when i was a kid
Back around 1974-75 I saw a marquee on a club near the road fork at the old Baytree Golf Plantation leading into Cherry Grove, SC, announcing Billy and his band were playing there. I told a girl I was dating we were going to the show that night. Well, there were not 6 people in the place that were not employees. Billy came out, smiled and said, "Well, I've played to bigger crowds. A member of the Chairmen of the Board (or Showmen) once told me that the people have paid to see a show. So that is what you are going to see tonight! A SHOW!!!" I had seen them many times thru their various Prophet renditions and I have to say that was one of the top three shows I ever saw. I will always treasure the memories of those times and the life events that they are wrapped around. Rest in peace Billy.
