Who was your favorite?
The Québécois guy. Because he’s the only one who stayed long-term. So his answer is the most reliable.
No favourite Alex, just different people with different experiences in life & from different places.
all of them
they were all so cool, open and friendly
i like the quebec guy😂. done subscribing
Very interesting vlogs. I’ve watched a few and like your topics…I visited the Philippines 🇵🇭 this past May and I love it! Can’t wait to return. 👍🏽✌🏽
Thank you soo much! Glad ypu enjoyed it 😊
Philippines it's more fun ,
I wonder what role in the military Rob had before he retired. He's a very good observant and pretty accurate on his statements. If he writes a book, I'd never hesitate to buy it.
Wow me too. He was very intelligent
If I had to guess, I'd say he was a cook. Yep, a cook who works on a Navy Battleship that's on it's way to the docks to be decommissioned. But before that happens, the ship's Ex-O has planned a surprise birthday party for the Captain by flying in by helicopter a music band with caterers and Miss July playboy playmate who is going to jump out of a big birthday cake.
@@johnlloyddy7016 lmao that's steven siga!!!😀
you're right he his a good man, in my observation.🙂
I was born in Benguet, grew up and finished grade school in Wester Visayas, finished my senior year high school and college in Manila and now in the USA. All different. Cost of living and the way of life is different.
They all look like genuine people! Keep the street interviews coming. You are such a smooth interviewer !
You're awesome! Thank you 🥳
First time I went to Cebu from Manil/Luzon, i said to myself "this is different"...and the people are, more of a Chinese/Spanish mix b/c of the trade routs with Mexico/Spaind etc. I liked it a lot more. peace.
How your experience in Philippines
Ha. The galleon trade with mexico is between manila acapulco
Very interesting and informative interviews. I find Rob’s answers particularly insightful. Thanks Alex!
I totally agree!
it is nice to see foreign impressions about our country ...keep doing this kind of interview ...have a great night and enjoy alex!
Will do! Glad ypu enjoyed it 😊
your fellow Canadian guy said it the best in every city of the Philippines Its people are so different with different languages and different cultures. that's people say I am Bisaya and not Tagalog, Luzon people are always thought of as having the power in the Philippines. but if you are from anywhere else than Luzon you have an advantage of speaking extra languages on top of the official language of Tagalog. being from Quebec Canada he didn't have that French English dialect that they have in Quebec, probably spent a lot of his time in Ontario. again Alex great street interviews, your subscriptions are sky rocketing good on you.
Well said Noor. Rob was very friendly and genuine. I can't wait to visit more places. Thanks for the encouragement and support as always Noor Billie!
I beg to disagree with you when you generalized that Luzon people always thought of as having the power in the Philippines and if you are from a place other Luzon, you have an advantage of speaking other languages on top of Tagalog. "MAYBE" you were referring to those living in Manila and neighboring towns/cities or shall we say NCR (National Capital Region). I was born in the North East Province of Luzon and I can speak 4 other languages and understand some other languages/dialects. Please refrain from making those comments. It's not good.
@Ako Ito,..... Its cant be avoided what Noor said because somehow there some intances where Tagalog look down on the people from Visayas or Mindanao, thinking that we are less educated or very ignorant around certain things, easy to fool and in reverse they think themselves to be more educated ,more aware and etc.....I experience that kind of situation where I encountered people from Luzon who are like that. But anyway in every places there are always people who are like that and certainly we cannot judge the population based only on few individuals from that place.
@@GG-uw8kc I understand what you are saying but my point is do not generalize because the Tagalogs do not populate the whole Luzon. The Kapampangans, Ilokanos, Pangasinenses, Ifugaos, Ibanags and other ethnic groups are also living in Luzon. Myself am not a natural tagalog speaker. Get what I mean?
@GG, forget these two people who are just weirdos, I am not an ignorant person I say things I know of I don't waste my time ok tiktok and stuff I like politics and history itself so I know a lot about world countries and it's history. I have been to Philliphines twice before COVID and I have been to 45 countries so far, I have no plans of coming to Philliphines anytime soon, because the world is big enough to go see other places. GG, thanks for your understanding.
9:36 this guy has an open mind of understanding/observing differences of each place & he was right,
especially when you go to the Cordillera region in the northern Philippines, that region is quite different & unique part compared to most areas in the Philippines, the peoples culture & their behavior is more disciplined & a bit more reserved/shy type.
Yes he seemed very intelligent and knowledgeable.
Different kind of filipinos in the cordillera region, more ethnic. And you can get a 5$ room too for the night in such places like Sagada!! The food is very good too.... The best entry to the North is to start in Baguio city, work your way to Sagada and onwards and finish your adventure in Vigan. And since you are in the far north already, why not include the Batanes Islands!!!
That's amazing!
Appreciate your interviewing foreigners on what is good and bad in the Philippined !God bless and mabuhay !
Thank you 😊 a lot more positives than negatives
I really hope there's a propose railway in Visayas because they already started the Mindanao Railway and we can see someday the full potential of both Islands. Luzon already have these two ongoing Subway projects, two Mrt and PNR all interconnected to Clark and Naia airport.
@Lovewhat I mean was they already started the planning and foundation for the project. They are fixing the right of way and also building the ressetlement area for the informal settlers that will be affected of the railway 1st segment.
The railway project in mindanao push thru. I don't any du30 supporters highlight that project
@@historiko5245 ah. So it will be yrs before they break ground.
As a Filipina who lives in the US I am always curious what other well traveled people think of the Philippines. Thank you for your interesting vlog
Yay! Glad you found it interesting 😊
People here are nice and friendly enjoy your stay here in Manila phillippines
Yes they absolutely are 😊
0:05 I attest to this. I lived in Bulacan and also in Pampanga, and they are completely different people, despite being neighbor province to each other! I'm from Metro Manila - another different species.
Very interesting! Thank you 😊
smart content vlog Alex. your interviews from other foreigners who has been here for a good long time will give some birds eye view to other foreigners and learn about life, culture, places and peolpe in my country.👍😃
You're absolutely right!! Glad ypu enjoy the content. 🥳

So happy you enjoyed it! Thank you 😊
WOw 36 yrs back and forth ! Ph is his 2nd home ! Bienvenue!
Honestly, your questions are great. You know what's missing? Proper title. It will help get more views. It has something to do with CZcams's algorithm. For example this video, I would suggest "Asking Foreigners in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Part 1". Then in the thumbnail put "What do you like about the Philippines?" like that.
Believe me, it will work. Coz I want more people to see this too 😊
Thanks. Glad you like em. Thank you for the suggestion 👍
Great interviews Alex. I enjoyed them All. Have a Great Sunday 😀☘.

I really like your vlogs cause it’s enlightening how foreigners feel about my country
I'm so happy to hear that! This is precisely my intentions to highlight the positive! Since not many people can say many negative things about the Philippines 😊

Very nice that you interviewed people from different countries but also from France 🇫🇷 and sharing their thoughts. Thanks for sharing 😍👍
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
I enjoy your video. I would like to see a more in-depth interview with some of your guest. Rob would have been a perfect person to learn much more from with his history and experiences. Try a sit down for 20 or so minutes with someone interesting. Thanks for your videos.
Good idea Doug. I'll have one for ypu on Thursday 😊
Thanks for practical and fun interviews with other visitors. I'm sure some foreign viewers will be encouraged to visit, this means income for the locals. New sub and watching from San Francisco CA 🇺🇲. Btw, I lived in Toronto for eight years too and loved it.🇨🇦 Loving my home country Philippines 🇵🇭 🙏
Wow thanks Rick! I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Great video! Could you do a longer interview with Rob? He was interesting and seemed well informed about the Philippines. Thanks 😊
Thanks Paul! Yes if I run into Rob again, I'll definitely do a full interview 😊
You've got to interview more people at random, especially foreigners. They give honest and insteresting viewpoints about the Philippines. As Rob said, as a country the Philippines seems to be more free than other nations which is good. It also is more welcoming to foreign visitors and most citizens can speak English which is an added plus.
More videos coming! I agree 😊
You did a great job! 👍

Glad to hear it!! More coming to the channel 😊
Nice to see more perspectives from foreigners especially from diverse ages. I really liked when you put the 2 French girls on the spot when you asked them if they dated a Filipino man as I see the girl on the left kind of pause before answering lol. It was also nice for them to cover the differences and stereotypes of France and confirming it’s partially true and more of an individualistic culture and more likely to happen in Paris than other parts of France. Also it was really nice to hear from Rob the retired Canadian Military guy. Perhaps it’s a Canadian thing to be humanitarian and charitable out of compassion once they witness others who are less fortunate beyond what Canadians or Westerners would find acceptable. Unfortunate that he broke up with his Filipina soul mate but he has a good heart and attitude moving forward in life and doesn’t allow it to get him down. I guess it was a blessing for me to not be in a relationship during the coming years of the pandemic and during as this was probably a huge test for couples as many break ups and divorces occurred when people were locked up and learned the true colors of the person they were committed to!
I absolutely agree with everything you mentioned Jon. Rob is a great guy. I hope to run into him again and have a full length interview with him.
New sub, from Dorcas...

Thanks for your videos. They're informative and interesting. I'm planning a trip to the Philippines to visit friends and your videos are very helpful. Congratulations Alex! Your channel is growing fast. With some of their answers, I remember the song Manila, way back in the 70's, it's about people always wanting back to come to Manila once they've experienced it.

Very nice 👍🏽
07:51 Nice special effect! I had the same rode wireless microphone for when I just began with my CZcams channel, it only has 1 microphone. If I were you, I would invest in the Rode Wireless Go part 2 since it has 2 microphones and it's overall just such a big improvement. It's the same as with the Godfather... part 2 is just so much better! 🤭
Hehe thank you and yes eventually I will. I just ha e to save up for it, as it's kinda pricey. But yes it will definitely be an improvement if I had 2 mics.

Like all the people equally & I love people from worldwide countries have come along way in their English speaking, especially the French.
Rob is someone any expats & future expats can learn alot from. Also he comes across that he's a genuine, caring & giving guy. Similar age & circumstances to me & a guy I could hang out with a learn alot from.
Great stuff Alex, as always...oh & thanks for interviewing a broad age range of people.
Great observation T Man. I appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed it 🥳
TMan, many French are speaking English. but I can say the same with English natives. Just remember, when you go to other countries , its always better for you to adjust to them that expect them to adjust to us. If you do that, you will win the "hearts" of the locals.

Good question ...
Thank you!!
To the two french ladies, we have a 1,700+++ islands in the Phils. Coming here is not just for a 2 weeks vacay if you want to explore. Literally visitors whose intentions is to explore they stayed for a month or so as that's the only way they will enjoy the country. I lived in Thailand for many years and I cannot compare the country to the Phils. for Thailand has no vast ocean, many islands or beaches as vast as the Phils. This country consist of more waters than land. Palawan and as such is still a protected spot in the Phils. so Jetty or fueled big boats are still restricted to sail and so small boats are minimized in small numbers.
Anyway like all of them but Rob is the best.
Goodluck
The curly girl looks like Andi Eigenmann Filipino celebrity
I just looked her up. I can see the resemblance
Rob gets it.
He definitely seems like it

I love French girls, their accent. My first time to Paris I was 24. Went into a perfume store and it was heaven, the scent and the girls. LOL
Living in the philippine its fan in the philippines.
It sure is!
So now you’re back in Cebu. I was thinking you move to Manila already.
No no, Manila was just a weekend trip
Welcome the Philippines
Thank you Brother Bong!

I would like to meet him
I am assuming your staying in the Philippines on a tourist visa, can you give some insight on how hard it was to get your visa extensions?
Easier thing ever. Filled up half page paper paid 3100 pesos and got extended I 40 minutes
Also the character depends upon the level of maturity of the person, which is the same anywhere on this planet
Sound like i found a good motivation in life. Work hard to go live my best life in those kind of countries👌
Btw...As a francophone, I cant explain to myself why listening to french accent get so much on my nerves...
Familiarity breeds contempt 😄

Whoooaaaaa a lot of French speakers in the Philippines. As a Québeçoise I won't be out of place. Are they more in Cebu?
I'm sure there are some. Probably just a coincidence
I am a Filipino based on my observation in general the Philippines is the safest in the world and the most generous of all,
in times of disaster as long as you are vigilant you will be safe because 10% of Filipinos are untrustworthy because of illegal drugs by the strangers. who the most affected are the few poor areas in the country that also exist around the world
