I’m born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee and now live in Raleigh. Here’s my take on Raleigh. Raleigh is definitely a lot smaller and lacks real culture or a city identity. Because of the industry in the area, a lot of beta male energy here. Not a lot to do. It has great shopping but needs a better culinary scene (I’m a trained chef) I look at Raleigh as a blank canvas that has a lot of potential but it needs to be capitalized on.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts on Raleigh so far! Hard to beat the culture scene in Nashville! Very very different cities to live in for sure. What has been your favorite restaurant in the area?
Looking to make a transition soon to Raleigh so this really does help ALOT. Thank you guys for sharing!
So glad it helped! Let us know if you have any questions!
❤Your channel is literally my comfort place. You make me so happy. Love you❤😁❤
That’s so kind! Thanks so much for watching!
These videos are so informative
Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words!
A little off topic but being locals & me & others surely not knowing all the ins & outs would you consider doing a video on great trick or treating spots? I know different neighborhoods have different things. Where the full size candy bars at? Where is it busy? Who has the coolest decorations?? Might be a better thing to ask on Feb idk lol ty for everything!
That’s a great topic! We’ll try to add that to the list and get that out before Halloween!
Raleigh I'd a beautiful place, however the growth is taking its toll on that beauty.
It has definitely changed through the years!
Really beautiful place. I'm planning a tour of the US soon, so I'm looking for information on the places I want and plan to visit. Thank you very much, nice video, much respect and best wishes from Serbia, southeast Europe.🌄🙏😇
Wow you might be our farthest away viewer! Haha. Thank you very much for watching- we are so glad we could be a helpful resource! Feel free to text us sometime if you have any questions about moving to RDU!
@@raleigh-durhamnc Hahaha, probably, but that just goes to show that you're awesome, and maybe the yt algorithm likes you, because you have quite a reach.😇 I'm happy I came across your channel, it provided me with a lot of useful information. As I said, I plan to visit and tour the US as a tourist, and your city is one of the places I want to visit, because I am a basketball fan among other things. I didn't plan to move, I love my country too much, but I will definitely need a place to stay for a week, so maybe you can recommend me a good one. I'm coming in August. And once again, thank you, you are wonderful. Much love and respect from Serbia.🥰🌄🙏😇🥂
@@mitologijaiokultizam7608 Well the triangle is certainly basketball heaven! You should consider being a Duke fan- the best in the world! ;)
Can y’all talk more about Knightdale, Wendell, or even Garner more? Just curious about your thoughts on theses areas.
We’ll add these areas to the list! Thanks for watching!
Planning on relocating from Sweden to Raleigh. This video was super informative, thank you! We might check the city out this summer.
How cool! We have recently helped another family from Sweden. They are really happy here! Feel free to text or call us prior and we can send you our area guide for things to do and places to eat on your trip. :)
Considering relocating to the area from Michigan. Just texted you my contact. Thank you for the information.
Thanks Terry! I look forward to chatting with y’all further!
The pro 2.5 is actually a con to me 😅. The options for directs flights to mayor cities nationwide and abroad is minimal, therefore a lot more expensive
Thank you for watching!! The airport is definitely smaller than other major US cities but there are a good amount of flights thankfully!
Live just over Wake line in Granville. Nice neighborhood. Area getting super crowded, came from Jersey, outside NYC, so used to traffic. Crappy drivers , landscapers rule the roads, roads are a bit narrow and Six Forks sucks, pollen is beyond brutal for a month or so, snakes a problem ( copperheads, seen 4 in the yard so far) lots of black snakes. RDU very civilized, and I have been in most major airports in the US. Restaurants are ok, I miss Italian and NE pizza. Restaurant scene not keeping up with influx. Hot and humid as heck in the summer. Some real nice neighbors, but do your homework, HOAs can suck, big time. Great Medical Care. Northern Libs changing the landscape. Two issues I have been reading about, water quality is an issue in some areas, and short term power interruptions. Cell coverage can stink in places, especially where I live. I picked up a pay raise when I moved here, property taxes are way lower than Jersey. I am retired so that is important. Don’t expect a home bargain, smallish starters selling for 500,000. If you go to a neighborhood with a decent pool, good. Otherwise get a pool. I have both and use both. Good luck.
Thank you for sharing your experience! Glad you were able to make the move down here to RDU! Sorry you have had some copperheads this year! Definitely comes with the territory but some yards are worse than others.
I lived in Garner Clayton and Raleigh and I love the area I loved what was available there but unless you are in the upper echelons of earnings the regular workers are completely priced out of the area and that's a sad thing
It’s definitely become more expensive in the area! Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts!
Any areas outside of Raleigh that are close to downtown but more affordable?
@@WWJDDo unfortunately you can go 20 to 25 mi outside of downtown Raleigh and it will be almost as expensive as actual downtown Raleigh once in a great great while you will look up and find a good deal somewhere but not very often best of luck to you
Charlotte is actually 2hrs away from Raleigh
Thank you for watching!
Just fyi , the time markers are shifted one over so its behind each topic you bring up.
Thank you so much for brining that to our attention! We appreciate that!
Can we know in advance prior to buying a house what will be the actual assigned school?
Yes! School assignment can be looked up by address and if that school is capped, normally an overflow school is assigned as well. The website for this is www.wcpss.net/Page/33756
Thanks for watching and let us know if you have more questions!
Cap school. Are there buses to bus the children to the overflow school?
Thanks for watching! Transportation is provided to overflow schools! Here is a link to Wake County's FAQ page on school enrollment: www.wcpss.net/Page/33755
looking for a house to rent in this area, do y'all know of any reputable property management companies in the Raleigh-Durham area?
Definitely! We highly recommend Acorn and Oak Property Management for rentals!
How about put more city footage
Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
What’s the cost of living in NC?....
It's about middle of the pack in terms of cost of living! We have quite a few videos that go over the cost of living here!
Love to move there cost of moving $$ and jobs don't Pay my only issue
Moving is definitely very expensive! I hope you are able to make it out here!
@@raleigh-durhamnc eventually I got set up with a beautiful apartment for right now Maybe in the spring I'll go for a vacation and do my research in Holly Springs
Depends on the job, cops, teachers not paid well.
Your husband has a country accent, he must be from a rural area.
He's from a small town outside of Charlotte!
