I live in Charlotte. I'm close to the state line and go to SC pretty regularly. The roads are maintained better in NC. The location is fantastic. 2.5 hour drive to the mountains and 3 hours to the SC coast 4 to the NC coast. Rush hour traffic is heavy between 7-9 am and 4-6 pm.
