Same happened to my splitter. I was in trade and the guy declined and I didn’t notice it glitched to his inventory until I went to trade it to my friend and it was gone. The guy was really nice tho and hunted me down in a group I was in and gave it back which made me really happy.

Duping is a huge problem in MM2, most of the unobtainable knives/guns are duplicated a lot. CBB and CGB were duplicated since at the time there was a duping glitch. It wasn't patched until they released their Season 1 update, and those chromas were duped a lot. The Chromas that you can unbox now are new and very high in demand, that is the reason for their value. But since duping is becoming more known again in the community, the new chromas are going down in value.

One time I was a real noob at this game and managed to trade a legendary I somehow unboxed at lvl 23 to a chroma tides.
Some guy really wanted my chroma tires and he said he would trade a deathshard for it, which he said was “high demand” and “very rare and high value”.
Fortunately for me, I declined and later checked the values to see that I nearly avoided getting scammed
