- My first ride on the now electric start Yamaha YZ250 2 stroke! After an unceremonious first attempt (see Crafting a KTM Killer - Episode 3 if you haven't already: • Crafting a KTM Killer ... ) I finally got the chance to take it out for a spin, and as you can see... it works! So sit back, and enjoy some raw two stroke action.

Hi Ash, love your vids. Not sure if you've ridden a Yz 250 with a WR 400 transmission. l have done a bunch of these conversions over the years, and it really transforms the bike into an awesome woods weapon, with 15/50 gearing, cheers, keep up the good work. Colin from OZ.

Will good luck with your conversion on the Yamaha if I would of realized what everything cost I would of never bothered not joking the price is way out there especially when you change that motocross transmission

For one upgrade you could do, I'd recommend an magura hydraulic clutch system, they're amazing
Doesn't work with the electric start.
Would be good if Yammy made one U could register for the road like the old WR back in the 90's.
Tpi bikes sure run smooth but a clean running yz sounds crisp as can be.
