By current standards, this DLC would be at least AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA game and don't even ask ubisoft how much it would cost
ubisoft would release a roadmap and sell each portion of the map for 49,99 + skins and weapons, armor, mounts, you name it, probably keys for dungeons too
this is what DLC was meant to be when it started to be introduced, not nickel and dime skin packs

It's heartwarming knowing that there is a studio out there which always promises a 10/10 game, the fanbase always expects an 11/10 from them, and they always find some way to not only meet but even one-up the absurd expectations.
Miyazaki and the team completely changed the gaming landscape.
Its insane how consistant Fromsoftware has been for over a Decade now. Even their games before Souls are great. They create quality products and it shows.
It was more like an 8/10 game. Hopefully the DLC is great.

I played Diablo 4 during season 1. I never want to play it again. Fuck making new characters for that endless dogshit grind. They ruined their only chance. Then I go back to Elden Ring and it's 1,000 times less of a grind and actually fun.

Can we take a moment to also appreciate the music? Man, when that cello and those deep horns start when the Tarnished rides in on Torrent, it gives me insane goosebumps (Ramin Djawadi vibes from GoT?). And then, when the scene is that painting with those two new characters and the violin does that sick note during its riff (I dunno what key this is in, but if it was in Cm (Eb), it would be like quickly hitting an F#), it sounds amazing. They really went all out on the music for this too and it *feels* like a raising of the stakes, like there's an urgency, and that something has happened to elevate the importance of what you're doing and that is communicated so well through the music. Just stunning.

They said in an interview that in raw size this was equivalent to Limgrave... which seems... impossible? Like even if we take into account the underground and the weeping peninsula; it doesn't match, like they showed so many biomes, that this feels like it should be at the very least the size of the entire Altus plateau including volcano manor and underground if not bigger.

True, I literally had arguments with other people about it in other comment sections lol. My s/o and I estimated distance from the Tarnished to the Helphen Tree, and there's no way the area is Limgrave-sized, it should be Liurnia at least. All the different biomes seen cannot be fit into Limgrave.
Fromsoft have a tendency to under-promise and over-deliver. Expectations are already crazy high, if it is bigger than Limgrave they will probably want to keep the actual size under wraps.

Remember the way the map works when you first start out, how it looks like the game is just Limgrave, but then it gradually zooms out, and you start thinking "damn, just how big is this game?" That's before you even figure out there's a whole underground network.
I'd be very surprised if something similar wasn't going on here. Miyazaki is probably trolling us when he says "it's about the size of Limgrave", trying to give us that same experience we had with the base game of being surprised by secret areas and the scale of the world.

They’ve already confirmed that this will be their largest DLC they’ve done by far and if they are doubling the price then it surely will compensate for that by having tremendous amount of content. Fromsoft has never really missed with their souls game content before and I believe they will continue that streak.

Love the fact that people, including Asmon, are really really excited and smile just looking at the trailer. As if we go back to our childhood days where we bought a game back home and smiled at it all the way home while staring at its cover.
FromSoft definitely one of a very few, if not the only one, in gaming industry that can bring those feeling back and I'm glad I'm here to witness and enjoy their works.
DLC Expansion. its pretty rare for games doing this. most AAA games just add 5 hr of content for 30$.
You have to have a really strong base game for a 5h dlc to work. Whats funnt they have a really strong base game and still add a huge DLC. That's really respectable and I'm glad I haven't even finished Elden ring so I know I'll have a shit ton of story and content left t9 discover + the dlc

I don’t usually watch these kind of videos but I’m so hyped for this I watched this with pure joy and radiance.
Messmer the impaler, his epithet "the Impaler" implies he's actually related to the Impaler's Catacombs in Weeping Peninsula. His eyes and casting imply he's a Dragon Communion seeker - he has draconic eyes and he uses the Dragon Seal if you look closely. The snake has little dragon wings sprouting from it. That's what it looks like atleast.
And if you peep his design, he looks EERILY similar to Rykard. Just not with the whole "head sticking out from the back of the God-Devouring Serpent" motif, but still!!

Its larger than limgeave fyi. Its more like caelid and limgrave put together based on the tree and how close/far away you are from it in all the angles shown.. given that the tree base is around the same size as the original.
It looks amazing, and I can't wait! Some of those new weapons look sick, and I especially have my eyes on that Spinzaku Hurricane Kick. Is that an AoW, or a standard attack of a new weapon type? Can't wait to find out. That winged attack looks sick too, hope that means more Crucible Knight gear! The new enemies look fantastic too, love the art direction for that lion dancer in particular.
Slightly disappointed to hear it's only about the size of Limgrave, but if that's Limgrave including all of its dungeons (and maybe the Weeping Peninsula?) then it might not be so bad. Either way, really looking forward to it.

I don't know why but the lion boss attacks 1 on 1 reminded me of Hakamori no Wethermon "the Tombguard" from the anime series "Shangri-La Frontier". You can see a similar skill called "thunder clap" at 1:33 and also a similar skill "Nimbus Fist" at 1:30 from the episode 17 dunno if they took it from the anime series but yeah just pointing that out
