Jazz Ukulele Lesson How to Jazz Strum

- In this jazz ukulele tutorial, you will learn how to play 2 different types of jazz stums.
There will also be a short jazz play along at the end of each jazz strum.
There will not be any jazz chords or progression in this tutorial.

The 1st jazz strum 0:32
The first type is DU mute
The 2nd jazz strum 2:21
The second type of jazz strum is similar but it is D Dmute.

@@JJMilare Your instructions are very well explained. DU chuck is also my go-to jazz strum pattern. I started to use diminished chords for intros after watching Kimo Hussey playing Today. Are you interested in a joined cover of L.O.V.E.? That would be fun!

I forgot to ask you about these jazz strums. Are they 2/4 or 4/4 per measure?
Good question...I honestly don't know how they are appropriately written down since someone taught me by showing me these strums. But I would say it would depend on the song and the timing of each measure of the song in musical notation. The good thing is that 2 and 4 are related so you an speed up or slow down your strum as necessary! :). I hope this helps..sorry if it wasn't too technical.
