HAUNTING version of "Bella Ciao"//La Casa de Papel IN A STAIRWELL
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 15. 03. 2021
- "Bella Ciao" is a significantly historical Italian Folk Song (and sometimes politically controversial) but it is such an important and interesting part of history. You may have heard it in the popular show, "Casa de Papel" or "Money Heist" on Netflix but its' significance goes far beyond. Many of you requested this song and I hope I did it justice. Although some versions seem very happy, this song is heartbreaking and I wanted to emulate that. đźđč
P.S- I get caught near the end RIGHT as I was about to start the final verse đđ«

As an Italian, thank you! This is one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard, I cried while listening to it!
Omg Iâm so honored, thank you!!!
Same here! Definitely one of the best Iâve ever heard I also started to tear up
Italian here too, I loved it!
I'm not italian and I heard this song first in La Casa de Papel on netflix but after reading the history of the song its meaning, I too have a tear in my eye. Your rendition and voice is sublime and exquisite.
Me to :D
As an italian, I must say that your pronunciation is very impressive. Also, thank you for the respect that you showed to this song and its deep meaning to Italian history
It's the shared latin roots of words we share

Hi! Italian fan here,
Thank you so much for singing this song my grandfather was a partigiano and he used to tell me stories about the resistance against the Fascists and how significant was for him and his companions to chant this song. Again Thank you for singing this song in such a beautiful and respectful way, I'll play when I will finally be able to be with my grandad.
(Sorry for my broken English)

they probably have but listen silently lol đ
Right?! Iâd post a note outside the stairwell requesting that she leave a schedule in the leasing office for when she planned on filming a video.
Me when the random person entered: How dare you disrupt her groove!
She was SO nice though! I feel bad for scaring her đ
I can't be upset with anyone for being lured by her siren song.
I'm sorry you've thrown off the Empress' groove.

Agreed!
Italian here! This song was sung by the anti-fascist rebels fighting fascist dictator Mussolini at the end of WW2 (we call them "partigiani", literally "those who choose a side"). They would hide in the mountains and hills of Italy and fought for our freedom and democracy. They're such an important part of our history and hearing this song remixed as something that drunk americans dance in nightclubs is really disheartening. Even using it on Money Heist was quite disrespectful, it has nothing to do with the scene in the tv series and now people sing it without knowing the context behind it.
Edit: if you want to hear the version that most people in Italy grew up with, just search "Bella Ciao Modena City Ramblers"
"One morning i woke up
Oh darling, goodbye,
One morning i woke up and i found the invasor.
Oh partigiano, take me away,
Oh darling goodbye,
Oh partigiano, take me away, that i feel i'm going to die.
And if i die as a partigiano,
Oh darling, goodbye,
And if i die as a partigiano, you have to bury me.
And bury me up there in the mountains,
Oh darling, goodbye,
And bury me up in the mountains, under the shade of a pretty flower.
And the people that will pass
Oh, darling, goodbye,
And the people that will pass will say: "What a beautiful flower"
And this is the flower of the partigiano
Oh darling, goodbye,
And this is the flower of the partigiano, died for freedom."
So her singing it like a mourning ballad really is how itâs meant to be sung?
It wasn't used disrespectfully on Money Heist. It's an important song because the Professor character was taught the song by his Italian father. It's mentioned in the season 1 finale towards the end of the episode why it's important to the Professor's life.
Edit: here's something that Tokyo narrates in the show, "The life of The Professor revolved around one idea: Resistance. His grandfather, who had fought against the fascists in Italy, taught him the song-and he taught it to us"
@@Grrranola I have it heard many times in Europe too, specifically Belgium, so the point stands lmao. And tens of friends of mine told me they knew it from it being used as a disco song
@@Grrranola probably italian clubs play the remix version of it to dance to. I believe I know which song OPâs referring to with that one. A bunch of people danced to it on tiktok for a while but it didnât become a super popular trend.
I love how your neighbor is saying sorry and going out fast like was entering in your home without your invitation hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahhahah
Imagine walking up a stairwell whilst hearing this angelic voice. It would feel like ascending up to heaven.
The neighbors thought it was ghosts haunting their placeđ»đđ€Łđ
@-- Haunting works better since the song itself is about anti-fascist rebels who went into hiding while planing to overthrow a fascist dictator
@-- Yeah it's a great song just a very dark story!
I mean if I heard that every night or something I wouldn't care it's beautiful.
Ahahah

Una mattina mi sono alzato
o bella ciao bella ciao
bella ciao ciao ciao
una mattina mi sono alzato
e ci ho trovato l'invasor.
O partigiano, portami via
o bella ciao bella ciao
bella ciao ciao ciao
o partigiano, portami via
che mi sento di morir.
E se muoio da partigiano
o bella ciao bella ciao
bella ciao ciao ciao
e se muoio da partigiano
tu mi devi seppellir.
Seppellire lassĂč in montagna
o bella ciao bella ciao

Oh Goodbye beautiful, Goodbye beautiful,
Goodbye beautiful! Bye! Bye!
One morning I awakened
And I found the invader

Then you must bury me
Bury me up in the mountain
